Please note that the additional fee is the line item and it can be created as a separate opportunity or it can be combined but cannot get value dynamically to the opportunity field.

I agree it is a separate line item within an opportunity not another opportunity of its own. If you consider each line item of an opportunity as a separate opportunity, it is not possible to identify which is the main donation and which is the fee in any transaction. Unless you have any other mechanism to identify donation and fee items. Let me know if I am not correct.

Also, if a Donor opt out to pay the "Additional Fee", then the Credit Card Processing Fee (Stripe Fee, PayPal etc) is deducted from the total amount contributed. The C&P Connect portal captures the "stripe fee", but when it is posted to salesforce there is no way to find the "Additional Fee" deducted by the payment processor. We need to report the net amount in our reports in salesforce.

          Hello,
Any update on my previous posts?. Can you guys tell me how you calculate the "Additional Fee" value in a donor form. I have used 4.95% + $0.30 in my "Additional Fee" section in the connect form. When a Donor opt out of paying the Additional Fee the calculation is correct. When the donor opt-in for the Additional Fee, then the fee value is not calculated based on 4.95% + $0.30. For example, when I pay $100, I should see a fee of 5.25 (4.95 + 0.30) as additional fee. Instead I see $5.52. How is that calculated?

            Good day @pillaymk

We know that when you get down into the math of the fee structure when you use the "Additional Fee" feature - your reported numbers come back as being slightly larger than the 4.95% that you expect.

There is no way for us to add an amount to the donation form that is 'excused' from the 4.95% fee. We are not actually the bank - we are the company that is providing the software for you to interact with the bank (merchant account). The best we can do is provide a feature that can let you offer that option to your donors in some way.

So, when someone makes a $100 donation, and your additional fee option is set to match our fee structure: add 0.30 + 4.95%, the bank is assessing the fee on THAT total: $105.25.

You set that fixed amount and/or percentage in CONNECT's Campaign Details: we aren't suggesting that the feature covers the fees, only that you can use it that way if you choose.

There is a "soft cost" to using the additional fee feature. You just have to weigh that against the benefit you get by offering that option to your patrons.

            Hope that explains.

I agree that this is an estimated amount only. When the data is transferred to Salesforce, I need a break down of all the costs. What is the amount Donor chose to pay, What is the additional Fee, Whether the Donor opt-in or opt-out, what is the total amount and what is the net amount etc. All I have is the total amount for opt-out transactions and total amount , deductible amount for opt-in transactions

Any update on my previous post. I am wondering if you can give me the following from C&P portal to salesforce:
                Amount Donor Paid
                Additional Fee
Additional Fee paid by Donor (Yes/No)
                Total Amount
                Net Amount
