  • Bug in Salesforce Opportunity- Does not automatically fill in Primary Campaign field

Here is an issue with opportunities not automatically filling in the Primary Campaign field.

We recently updated C&P instance earlier this month.

Here’s an example of an error from today:

Campaign it should be associated with-

The field called "Primary Campaign Source” used to be automatically filled and attributed to the campaign the opportunity is associated with, but it stopped doing that since early April right around the time we upgraded the C&P instance. Hence, the opportunity is not associated with the campaign like it should be.

    Good day @vivian@nyimc.org

Please review C&P Settings > Opportunity > Primary Campaign rules to ensure Opportunities receive the correct campaign. Check 'Use Transaction Campaign' in your C&P Settings > Opportunity > Primary Campaign rules to retain the Salesforce Campaign specified. However, we recommend implementing SKUs as the best long-term strategy.

Please make the above changes and click re-post under C&P Data and it will resolve the issue.

Thank you. I did as suggested, except for the re-post under C&P Data.

I was worried because I got this warning when i clicked repost : "Are you sure you want to repost this data? This action will delete all traces of previous post and reposts again."

Do I have to worry about losing the original data from the opportunity if I repost?

Additionally, is there a way for me to repost opportunities that don't have the Primary Campaign Source field filled in in bulk without doing it manually one by one?

You NO need to worry about that warning. It will delete all the footprint of that respective transaction like Transaction record, opportunity, custom questions... etc. and it creates a new one with all updated information. For now, you have to do it manually.
