  • Event Registration Pages

    Hi,

I have a number of questions about creating an event registration page and I'm wondering if I could speak with a developer.

Was hoping to us the salesforce events management app but it seems that the iframe doesn't work with our website correctly. Because of our website templates, this is what happens: http://uppervalleyhaven.org/mudball2013/
I'd like to be able to view all the information without scrolling. It seems that I can change the size of the iframe but not the size of the content inside of the iframe. Is there a way to change the size of the content inside the iframe?

Since this doesn't seem to be working, I started to create a form on our website that would go directly to a Click & Pledge check out page. Here is the page: http://uppervalleyhaven.org/mudballtickets2/
Will the attendee information work correctly? Can you also check to make sure the rest of the code will work?

    Thank you for your help!

    Good day!

iFRAME has 2 attributes, namely width & height.

In your source code- line 171

    <p><iframe same_height_as="body" src="https://uppervalleyhaven.secure.force.com/events/CnP_PaaS_EVT__EventRegistration_1?event_id=a0pd000 00018zVj&amp;pagename=Page1_Opening_Page" height="500" width="700" frameborder="0" align="top"></iframe></p>

The reason you can't get rid of the horizontal scroll bar event at a width of 700 is because your page has a right hand column that is blocking the iFrame to grow. The width shown on your page is definitely not 700 pixel as you have stated in the iFrame code. If you look at all your other pages there is a right hand column that has pictures in most pages. That column appears to be still in the page.

Glancing through your code I see the following:

    Line 185
    <div id="featured_image-secondary">
    </div>

I believe if you remove that it will give your iFrame more room to expand.

Just as a reference the following shows how this can work and in the example the width used is 660 which is less than the one you have set at 700.

    http://clickandpledge.com/platforms/...e_embedded.asp

The form you have created using our FaaS forms will not as you expect. The attendee names will need to be sent as custom questions and as a result will not create contacts or accounts. FaaS is currently not designed to create multiple contacts. The only contact that will be created is for the person making the payment.

Please let us know if we can be of more assistance.

Is it possible to talk with someone on the phone about our options with event registration?
      Thank you.

        Good day!

I can request a call back but it may take a while depending on the queue.

The solution I gave you solves the problem and I am sure not what other options you are looking for. You have everything working and the only problem you have is your web page that is not wide enough for the iframe which requires a width of at least 660 pixels.

I was supposed to talk with support on Monday to go over a few questions related to event registration. The individual was out for personal reasons and wasn’t able to make out scheduled appointment. I contacted click&pledge again yesterday through your website, phone and email. Can someone else get back to me today please? I really need to finalize the event registration page to have it go live. Here are some of my questions:

Can event registration work with faas/pass (not through salesforce)? How can I set this up?

          Sales Force Events:
Can we have a drop down box for number of tickets someone purchases?
Where it asks for address information, is it possible to have a box that says “Same address as above”?
Someone received the following error message when trying to register an individual? "invalid
          date." W
hat does it mean and how do I fix it?
Is it possible to remove the discount and tax area from the registration screen and/or receipt?
Can I change the color of the +add button? How?
Can I remove the link for the individual, couple, etc?
Can I add images to receipt?
Can we have custom fields show up on the receipt? – I’d like them to see the names of others they registered. How can I make this happen? Will they show up on our reports?
How does ticketing work? Scan them? Do the email with the receipt? How do you set it up?

Questions related to setting up an event in Sales Force:
Can you copy custom fields to different registration levels? How?
Can I export a list of all attendees with information? Reports don’t see to be working…
I see a message that says “Mapping to rich textarea, multi picklist, geo location fields is disables. For security reasons aliases will be created with new information and NOT updated in the contact records.” What does this mean? Do I need to change it? What else will it impact? How do I change it?

I look forward to speaking with someone soon. My number is xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Thanks for your help.

            Good day!

The forum is the best place to post your Salesforce questions. Support engineers may not know details of each application and have no knowledge of FaaS or programming questions. With the number of products that we have & the level of expertise needed for each the forum is the best location to post all questions. Calling regarding these issues is also not possible as answers may require research. These questions are only supported through the forum.

Reply to your questions follow your post:

Question: Can event registration work with faas/pass (not through salesforce)? How can I set this up?

Reply: No- FaaS does not interact with Salesforce events. If you wish to setup a FaaS form with items as event names, etc. they will be treated as a regular post to Salesforce. Our application will take each item and treat it as opportunity. You may want to setup Campaigns in Salesforce and treat them as event and then post each FaaS form with that campaign - in other words create an event application without using the Events app.

            Sales Force Events:

Can we have a drop down box for number of tickets someone purchases?

Reply: NO- that is not a valid option. The quantity purchase is a feature of next release due out later this year.

Where it asks for address information, is it possible to have a box that says “Same address as above”?

Reply: NO- the system does address matching as set and will not duplicate or copy the address.

Someone received the following error message when trying to register an individual? "invalid date." What does it mean and how do I fix it?

Reply: What version of event app are you using? Invalid data means that Salesforce does not accept that field and since we can't possibly validate Salesforce field validations for each field we don't know what rules are set up for the field. For example if you have a custom field and are mapping to it we have no way of knowing what are the validation rules set for the field. Invalid data means the validation rules has failed for a field and we don't know what the constraints are as it is not reported by Salesforce.

Is it possible to remove the discount and tax area from the registration screen and/or receipt?

Reply: Not at this time. They are included as part of the system. In the next release if they are not used they will be removed. I will see if we can have an update to remove those fields if they are not used.

Can I change the color of the +add button? How?

Reply: No- those colors are fixed.

Can I remove the link for the individual, couple, etc?

Reply: Not sure what you mean by link. We don't have links with those names. Please elaborate.

Can I add images to receipt?

Reply: Not to the standard receipt. You may create autoresponders and do whatever you want using the Autoresponder but not to the standard system receipt. In the event you may set the receipt so it is not sent and set the Autoresponder to send it.

Can we have custom fields show up on the receipt? – I’d like them to see the names of others they registered. How can I make this happen? Will they show up on our reports?

Reply: The custom questions are passed on as custom fields and they should show up in the system receipts. The report also shows the answers to the custom questions for each attendee.

How does ticketing work? Scan them? Do the email with the receipt? How do you set it up?

Reply: The current version of event does not have ticketing.

Questions related to setting up an event in Sales Force:

Can you copy custom fields to different registration levels? How?

            Reply: No

Can I export a list of all attendees with information? Reports don’t seem to be working…

Reply: Attendees may be downloaded as Excel file through the levels. Go to each level and download the attendee list by clicking on the attendee link and download it.

I see a message that says “Mapping to rich textarea, multi picklist, geo location fields is disabled. For security reasons aliases will be created with new information and NOT updated in the contact records.” What does this mean? Do I need to change it? What else will it impact? How do I change it?

Reply: If an attendee is found in the system all information entered if different from the information in the contact field will be saved as Contact Alias record. Attendees information will be saved but not update the existing records this way invalid information will not corrupt your existing data.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I believe this is what I want to do. Will it work with the form I've already created? http://uppervalleyhaven.org/mudballtickets2/ How do I create Campaign in Salesforce? Does it have to go into Salesforce? With our donation pages, donations are processed and go into the click & pledge portal. I can then download a detailed report into excel. Can't this be done for event registrations too?

                Good day!

Yes your same form can be setup to do this.

                Here are some pointers:

Campaigns added to each item can naturally be used for Levels or individual people attending and campaign added for the entire transaction is for the Event itself.

The campaign names are matched exactly as they are in Salesforce so use the same name. If the campaign does not exist in Salesforce we will create it.

I suggest you create one campaign for your event and create child campaigns for each level. For each item in the list use the campaign set up as the child campaign.

                Hope that helps.

Will Click & Pledge work with formstack?

I can't get the form I created to work with click & pledge and need to get the event registration page working by the end of the day. I'm considering switching to Formstack but would like to use click&pledge payment processor. Is this possible? If not, we might choose to go with another payment processor.

I would appreciate talking with someone on the phone about how to make my form work.

                  Thank you.

                    Good day!

No we don't work with Formstack. We used to have integration but not enough clients took advantage of it so they took our integration out and no longer support it.

Please note that these JS files will be purely on an as-is basis and we cannot guarantee if no issues will result from their interaction with Wordpress. As stated we did a quick JavaScript to help you with your custom form that you had developed.
