  • Events: force.com link not working and custom payment permissions

I am having two problems with Events for which I need help.

1 - I can get the desired Event Listing page only using the full URL from the iFrame link, but not from our default force.com address, https://bht.force.com/events/

From the latter, I get only a blank event listing header. I upgraded to ver. 1.85, but this was the case with previous versions, as well. I ran through the post installation guide several times again, including enabling all of the visualforce pages cited, thinking that might be the problem. I also tried renaming the page and setting a new event under it, in case there was a reason I couldn't name the page "events", but that didn't help. Any suggestions on what settings might cause this? I included screen captures with red text added to note note what the two different URLs show.Click image for larger version

2- The forum thread at http://forums.clickandpledge.com/showthread.php?t=933 lists some Special Instructions to follow to allow use of custom payment types. However, I can't find those check boxes anywhere. How do I get to them?

    Thanks.

    Steven,

Please set up the following user: [email protected] and give it admin rights.

That helps with one of our developers to login and find out what is going on with your account. That may be the fastest way to resolve the issue.

I will make sure we check both issues and let you know what we did it to fix it. As soon as we have the login info we start looking into it.

        Good day!

We reviewed your account & setup a test event. See below:

As part of the test we did 2 registrations and also used the "Pay at the Door" (Custom Payment Type). Both tests worked fine without any issues.

Your permissions are all set correctly and the system should be working fine without any glitches.

We had a release yesterday that fixed one issue with processing AMEX. Prior versions were having an issue under certain conditions with processing AMEX. We went ahead and upgraded your instance to the latest release- hopefully you don't mind.

Please let us know if we can be of more assistance.

It's still not working correctly, at least not how I understood that it should. The event listing page is still not showing any of the customization unless I use the long URL.

Shouldn't the "SalesForce Public Site URL" (http://bht.force.com/events) forward to the "Public Site URL" (i.e., event listing page with logo, etc.)? If so, it's still not working. If not, what is the point of the Salesforce Public Site URL?

Update: I deleted and re-created our event, so it is now showing in the event listing table. However, I still have the question about whether the Salesforce Public Site URL is supposed to point to the event listing page that has been customized, rather than just a generic table with listings. Or if I always need to use the full link when I want to point to the customized front page.

              Steven,

The listing page has its own URL and each event its own URL. The base URL is the same for all sites that use the SITE that was created in the Settings area of Salesforce. Once you create a site and point it as the base to an event all identifying parameters are appended to its base URL. We provide the link for each event and each listing page.

I really am not sure why this is causing confusion. The base URL is just the base and not the full URL. All the database parameters that append to its end are needed to locate the event in Salesforce and we provide the full URL for each event.

              Hope that answers the question.
