  • Trouble with Post Installation of Events 1.81

Hi, I am trying to follow the Post Installation instructions, however, once I get to: Setup -> Develop -> Sites -> Click on Site Label -> Public Access Settings -> then under Custom Field Level Security click etc. The problem is when I click on 'Public Access Settings', I don't see the Custom Field Level Security area. Nor, do I see the Standard/Custom Object Permission area in order to edit it. I remember seeing both when I installed the very first version of CnP Events, but I can't seem to find it now.

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Neely

    Hi Neely,

    I am surprised.

Please see the following image and the arrow to the section for "Field Level Security". Are you sure you don't have that section?

I tested this in 5 different instances & it is in all of them. It is easy to miss considering it is in the middle of so many other sections.

Let me know if it is missing and I will do more research as to what causes that section to be missing.. strange!

        Hi Neely,

Sure.. but please don't send login information on a public forum. We always ask that a user be created for us with admin rights so we can review the account.

Please create a user: [email protected] so we can login to the account. Once we are done please make sure to disable or delete the user.

Let us know when the user is ready.

How do I get the password to you? And is it okay to use a previously created user account? ([email protected])

            Neely,

I was not aware that you have a previously setup user.

Please activate it and I will go ahead & login to it. Don't need to send the password since we can request it and it will be sent to our email.

            I will keep you posted.

              Neely,

I just tried to login to the account but it appears that our user is a guest user and does not have access to various sections. Please assign admin rights to the user and let me know when it is done.

This login has Sys Admin permission and is active....but it has been since it was last used. This is weird.

                  Neely,

I reviewed the account and it seems to be all working.

Can you test one of your free events and activate the Custom Payment Type and see if the last page for payment works.

There is a setting in the Object Permission that shows: View All --> Enabled and it is checked so all objects are viewable in the form.

Okay, here's what is happening. I will get through adding an attendee, then check the terms/conditions, and press next....BUT it's not taking me to the next page which would be the payment page. Instead I'm getting the Authorization Required page. If it helps, I had similar permission trouble when adding PICnet's Soapbox Mailer to our account.

                        Neely,

I will review it further and will also request the event app developer team to also look at it. I am not sure if anyone from the team will be in over the weekend but I will definitely have an answer for you by Monday if I can't figure it out.

It is a permission issue for an object that apparently is not set to be viewed.

                            Neely,

One of our developers looked through your instance and fixed it.

                            The issue was with: CnP_PaaS_EVT.EventRegistration_ThankYou

The above page was not added to your site. My mistake was not checking that step since I assumed that your page was working before.

Please test it and let us know if it is working.

Hi I am still experiencing the problem. After selecting the event, adding an attendee, checking the terms and conditions box, I get the Authorization Required Salesforce page. Also, I notice that there is no EventRegistration_ThankYou page in my Event Layouts section. There are only 3 layouts (Opening Page, Attendee Page, and Payment Page.) Could this be the problem.

                              Thanks again for the assistance.
