Customized Receipts for Event

I would like to customize a receipt for a Click and Pledge Event.
I used Click and Pledge Designer to make a template, not knowing if that is the right thing to edit. If that is what templates are for, how can I assign a template to be my registration receipt for an event?
In short, where can I edit event receipts?

Event 1.6 does not work with Autoresponder. Event 1.7 which is due out before the end of the year will let you do this.

The next immediate release is an interim release before 2.0 due out towards the end of March, 2013.
