  • Event Registration

Is there a way to add more information fields to the “Attendee Information” popup when the user is registering attendees? Which leads me to another question, what is the purpose of the “Event Registration” page? Why does the user need to enter their information twice, once on the Event Registration Page, and then again as an Attendee? And where does the “Event Registration” info end up at?

When I “register” for the event I created it seems to create double entries into my “organizations”. I think it’s doing it because I’m “registering” on the registration page and then “attending” my event since I have to sign up twice, once to register, and then again if I want to attend the event I just "registered" for. I’m struggling with that one. Help please.

    Good day!

The current template offers event registration by a REGISTRANT registering many attendees. We are currently working on single registration templates as well and they will be released in the upcoming releases.

Registrants and attendees are all created as contacts based on their first name, last name, and email. If those 3 fields match an existing contact then that contact will be associated with the registration. If a match is not located then the system will create a new contact.

To be exact one does not register and then attend - the first info is for the REGISTRANT and the second is for the ATTENDEE - the design is such that one person from an organization (e.g. secretary) register a number of people for the event where the registrant may not be attending but is the one that will make the payment.

    Hope that answers your question.

Yes, that does answer my question. Looking forward to the single registrant option. Thanks for the response.

One more, how can I bypass the home page and link directly to the Registrant Info page if I didn't want to use the home page?

        Good day!

Currently the first page is the landing page. It is easy for us to bypass that requirement so let me talk to our team and see if we can make this change in the next release, due out Feb. 15, 2012.

        I will keep you posted.

          Thanks, I really appreciate it.

One more thing and I promise I'll quit asking questions

Is there a way to change the color of the white border around the page.

          https://marrowme.secure.force.com/ev...1_Opening_Page

Take a look a this opening page I've setup. I want the entire page to be black but I can't find (doesn't mean it's not there) a color selection change on the bounding window that holds the action button.

No problem - please ask as many questions as you want.

It may be best to start new threads for each question since that will help others with finding answers as well. Your questions will help us with adding new features.

The background color and border are 2 different variables and may be set up to black. Have you tried setting the background to black?

Also are you aware that you can easily add your own custom HTML if you want?

              Hi again,

The border you are referring to is the area around the button. That area does not have a customized color.

Good idea to add that.. I will go ahead and request the addition in one of the upcoming releases. It is simple so hopefully we can add it to the Feb. 15 release.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that our organization pretty much exclusively processes registrations from attendees who register themselves and therefore don't need to enter separate "registrant" & "attendee" contact information, and we're VERY interested in this single registrant functionality.

Please update this thread, or contact me directly, when this becomes available - thanks!

Hi -- Just checking to see if it's now possible to bypass the "Event Registration" page? I also want to see if we can have "Attendee Information" use a custom "quantity" field that's hooked up to "Amount." This seems like a fairly simple customization, and will allow us to use for ticketing -- one person can buy multiple tickets. I spoke with John about this on the phone a couple weeks ago but haven't gotten any follow up.
                  Thanks! -- Larry

                    Good day Larry.

This is a feature that will be in an upcoming release. The existing release is the most general implementation and we are currently working on a number of designs for single registration and quantity based registration with optional donations.

The ETA is early April as this will be a major release considering all the options that are scheduled to be included.
                    Regards,

Is this still pending in a new release? I'd love to be able to skip the opening page and the registrant page and go straight to the 3rd page. Thanks,

                        Good day!

Yes- this is actually done so you can do whatever you want. We will have several new templates that allow you to have single page registration.

I'm confused - Yes, it is released, so I can delete the first two pages and it will know to go to the 3rd?

Sorry for the confusion; this feature is in the upcoming release which will be out by the end of July along with several new templates.

OK, it's the beginning of August; any word on that new release that will enable us to skip the very confusing "Registrant Information" page? About 10-20% of my event registrants believe they have registered to attend after entering first-last-email on that page, and thus do not successfully complete their registration. This creates a lot of extra manual data entry for my staff which really defeats the whole purpose of Click & Pledge.
