  • Field not editable on registration page

Hello. I created a new field in the CONTACT object of Salesforce with the PICKIST record type. For GET-IT Students CONTACT FIELDS, I mapped the FIELD LABEL "School District-Select OTHER..." to the newly created field "School District". Sure I missed a step but not sure how to correct it I think it has to do with the permission sets

In the registration site for "20210217 School District Visibility", a registrant can't select the School District. Can you assist?

The post installation we do with Event Management lets public users write information into your Salesforce instance through the registration page - which normally a random user on the web would not be able to do. We can easily set up Salesforce to allow information entered on the event registration form to create records on the Event Management objects - we know what those fields are, and they're part of our app.

Letting users write information to a Contact record - a native object in Salesforce - is trickier, as it should be. When we map answers to custom questions, it's the PaaS app using the "Connnected User" (the user login that connects your C&P Account to Salesforce) to creates the record, so that's not a problem.

But when you add a Contact field to the Event registration form - you're opening a security hole to let the "public user" read the values of that picklist field on the Contact. We can't predict what Contact fields you might want to add to the form. So every time you add a Contact field to the registration form, someone has to update the security restrictions on that field so that the public user can read its values. We typically offer to do this for our customers, as it is advanced Salesforce Administration.
