    krj1903,

I've completed the post-installation, and tested to make sure your event loads. Could you test yourself to make sure registrations can be completed successfully?

I'm starting on your post-installation now, Kyle, you will be receiving some notifications about changes to your sharing settings. We update the sharing settings on our app objects, and add some sharing to Opportunities and Campaigns for the Site guest user.

I am having the exact same issue as katier . I have updated all of the packages manually and requested the post-installation service on the forums. I also made sure to disconnect and re-establish the connection to our Org in CONNECT.

I also completed the steps you recommended, CnP.LiveSupport.AB , making sure the Site Record owner was a user with the permissions and I am still getting the Authorization Required message.

Maybe you can take a look at this while completing the post-install service? I would appreciate it. Thank you

Thanks for this info. I updated the Default Record User to our Admin account, and made doubly certain by adding the Permission sets above to the user account. I have just tested the form again, and received the correct confirmation page. Thank you for your hard work to resolve these issues for our team. My comms colleagues say "MVPs! THANK YOU!!"

OK, in addition to needing the upgrade (which definitely causes the 'Authorization Required' error), the user that you have assigned as the "default record owner" does not have any of the permission sets for Events. One of the things that Salesforce has changed with its Site changes is they added a Site "default record owner" in their Winter '20 release.

Could you assign the "PS-CnP-Event-ONLY-SiteGuestUser-CRU" and "PS-CnP-PaaS-ONLY-SiteGuestUser-CRU" permission sets to Sage Ruth? Since she becomes the default owner when attendee records are created, she may need the same permissions as the Site Guest User has in the past, which would explain why the "Authorization Required" would pop up in the middle of the registration process rather than just when loading the Event.

Or you could reassign the default record owner for the Site to a user that uses C&P Event Management.

    katier .

I am stunned to find the Summer releases from last year as the ones listed on the AppExchange. I will need to check and see if AppExchange is actually still installing the summer release, or if the version "label" wasn't updated. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

You can upgrade the apps directly from C&P Settings in PaaS. Here are the instructions: Install or Upgrade Click & Pledge Apps in Salesforce.

We are still asking customers to request complimentary post installation, but the primary steps are available in the Salesforce Sites article you referenced. It's been very hard the last few times Salesforce has issued a release, because they have tightened up the settings for Salesforce Sites more with every release. This most recent one deletes the permission sets that had been added.

But we do think this chaos with Salesforce Site changes is about to die down. Salesforce began making these changes to promote their Community Sites, which require a different Salesforce license to use. You're going to start seeing them rebranded soon as "Experience Sites". They began locking down on permissions on their Sites feature: the first change was shutting down any permission sets that included View All/Modify All permissions- which our permission sets had on C&P Event objects, their next release started requiring that the Sites feature be opened with sharing rules rather than permission sets, and the most recent release just deleted the permission sets entirely!

With the latest release, most of the access that website users need to register is managed by the new sharing settings. So far, we've been able to add modifications to our recent releases to adapt to the new restrictions, but they have involved modifying every single customer's Site Settings with each release!

And no, your constituents should not see the 'Authorization Required' at the end, I will review that now that we have you upgraded.

Thank you for the upgrade and testing, but that only partially answers my question: how do I access the updated versions, if not through the AppExchange?

You say that I can access them through the News and Announcements group, but I reviewed these posts and found no links. For example, the one entitled Salesforce Event Management Release: Winter 21 Update, dated on the most recent release date, shows us the Version # and outlines the relevant Updates, but does not actually link to the updated versions.

Is the only way to upgrade to new versions, to request that C&P does it?

Additionally, the site we are troubleshooting is functioning, but still gives the "Authorization Required" error once the transaction processes. The transaction is being processed, but our constituents should not see that Authorization Required message at the end -- it would lead to a lot of confusion.

Our releases are announced in the News and Announcements group in this forum. If you click the subscribe button in that group, you receive notices whenever we issue a release.

Salesforce obviously issues their own release notices, but I think they are commonly overlooked because the release notes are so long.

I have completed your upgrade, and tested an event page to make sure it is loading correctly.

MPORTANT REQUIREMENT: It is IMPORTANT that you re-establish connection to Salesforce. The connected user must have access to various objects and the following access levels:
    • Be an administrator
    • Have the following permission sets assigned:
      • PS-CnP-PaaS-Connected-User-ONLY
      • PS-CnP-Event-Connected-User-ONLY (If the event is installed)
The following KB articles may be of help:

    Establish connection with Salesforce: http://cnp.ooo/Salesforce-Connection
    Latest Release notes: http://cnp.ooo/SF-ReleaseNotes
You may also join our Power of Us Hub: http://cnp.ooo/PoU-Hub

    PLEASE NOTE:

1- Your account may show that it is already connected, but this does not mean the new fields have posted to Salesforce. Please “DISCONNECT” and click on “CONNECT” again to establish connection.

2- If you make any changes to the information on this page, you will see an “UPDATE /VERIFY” button instead of Connect. Click on the Update/Verify button to re-establish connection.

Thanks for your help. My main issue then lands at this: where are we supposed to find these releases, and how are we supposed to be notified of these critical updates? This is all news to me, and I'm the primary contact for these apps.

I'm happy to manage these updates on my own, but the AppExchange lists the Summer releases as the most recent (Donor Management, Events, Library), and after extensive Googling and digging into C&P Forums/Knowledge Base, I can find release notes et. al but no links to these Winter '21 upgrades.

    Katie,

You have the fall release, not the latest release. I am upgrading you now.

These are not bugs, these are serious infrastructure changes that Salesforce has made affecting their Sites feature, that has allowed our app to publish registration pages for your patrons at no additional cost to you.

The upgrade will take some time, and you will likely receive some notices about updates to your sharing rules. I'm working to get you running ASAP

I'm really disappointed in the slow response from your team on this issue. In reading through the Knowledge Article because I haven't heard back, I've been following the steps to attempt to resolve on my own and am running into errors at the "Site Guest User" steps. Specifically, when attempting to assign PS-CnP-Event-ONLY-SiteGuestUser-CRU & PS-CnP-PaaS-ONLY-SiteGuestUser-CRU permissions sets, I receive an error stating:
    Please fix the following:

Can't assign permission set PS-CnP-Event-ONLY-SiteGuestUser-CRU to user Click and Pledge Events Site Guest User. The user license doesn't allow the permission: Edit C&P Event Registered Attendees
If this is an issue that your customers are widespread dealing with, why hasn't there been any communication or C&P-directed efforts to address these bugs?

Hello, I just confirmed that each of our C&P apps (Events Management, Class Library, and Donor Management/PaaS) are all the most up to date versions. However, we're still receiving the "Authorization Required" error. My team has a ton of social media and e-promos for the event scheduled for today and are eager to get this resolved so these do not have to be delayed.

    Good day @katier

In order to fix it, we have to upgrade your instance with the latest version of our apps. If you allow us we will upgrade and fix the issue.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    "Authorization Required" issue

Our event pages/registration links are not working. Instead, the following message appears: "Authorization Required. You must first log in or register before accessing this page. If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot Password to reset it."

    Org ID: 00D70000000IzHN
I've granted C&P access for one week.

Thank you in advance for your help. Attached are screenshots of the error message and of our C&P Events Site Guest User profile, in case appropriate permissions are missing..
