  • SKU Mapping for Contacts

    Hello,

I am trying to set Lead Source on Contacts by setting a SKU in both the Event Level and SKU mapping within C&P settings. The reason is I want all new contacts that attend this specific event to get a value in Lead Source which will kick off a process builder process to update these contacts in a specific way. I do not want existing contacts being updated in this way so this is how I thought it would make sense. The SKU is being included in the C&P transaction properly but the contact is not getting the Lead Source assigned. In theory I would want this on the attendees and registrants of the event but for the most part this is going to be the same person. I spoke to Amanda in office hours on 4/16 and she said she would get back to me.

    Thanks,

    Adam

Would you please grant us login access and share the order number so that we can review it?

No, I cannot grant you login access. It's against our policies. Amanda is aware. Do you need screenshots of anything or IDs of anything? The order number has been deleted since they were test contacts. I know the SKU was properly assigned to the C&P transaction so that's not the question. It's a question of how we can make a SKU mapping work for a free event without any opportunities apply to both the registrant and the attendee contact records.

        Adam,

We discussed adding this as a feature for Events in version 10, but this brings up additional use case questions. I will move this post to the New Ideas and Suggestions group.
        • Do you see Contacts created for Registrants and Contacts created for Attendees as needing a DIFFERENT Lead Source, or would they all be the same?
For example. under an event's Additional Info > Levels tab, we can set up specific roles for the attendees, such as labeling the Sponsor Table Host vs. Sponsor Table Guest, or different roles that might be assigned for a team at an event. Maybe you might want to track that someone is new to your organization, but started out with a specific role? (perhaps "Designated Event Sponsor Host" or "Event Sponsor Attendee"?)
What values do you have for Contact Lead Source, and how is it you're trying to use them?

        ~ Amanda
