  • Custom Questions Information

    I think I read somewhere that it is not possible to map the responses to custom questions into contacts in Salesforce. But, is there a way to display the custom responses on the receipts? Also, what other methods are available to easily view the custom responses? Going into the attendees and selecting them one by one is not very efficient. Thanks!

    Good day @icanaz

    Yes, Registrant Custom Questions may mapped and display on the receipt but NOT the Attendees. You may run the report for the Attendees where you will find the Custom Questions and Answers for entire Event Attendees.

      Hello - I have a follow-up question about custom questions and event receipts: we have a number of custom questions that HAVE to be at the attendee level (it's for a registration form for a race where the questions are related to each race participant) and we really want some way to include the answers to these custom questions on some sort of email confirmation sent to the race registrants. Do you have any other ideas on how to accomplish this? I see where the data is in the system and we can report on it, but I wish there was some sort of alternative receipt I could send out or some way to add an additional item to the event receipt that just would include detail about attendee custom questions. I just tested to see if the AutoResponder would handle this but it doesn't either (and I don't like that it doesn't get triggered until a temp contact has been processed - that would create delays in sending a receipt that would be a problem)...

        In this case, you may use Registration Emails feature where you may include the Attendees custom questions.

          Hello,

          I'd like to resurface this discussion. I am trying to get the Attendee Custom Question's Answers on the Registration Email (the selected Recipient as the Registrant). There is no merge field for the answers, only the merge field for the Custom Questions themselves which is not very useful (this is also regardless of Registration Email Recipient).

          Is it possible to have a merge field for the Custom Question's Answers so that we can let our registrants know not only who they've selected as attendees but also their answers to the custom questions regarding each attendee?

          This would be extremely useful and hopefully there would be an easy solution of a merge field for the Custom Question's Answer. Apologies for any repetitiveness!

            kkohrs, when you select the Custom Questions, you will get answers in Email Receipt.

            Please note that for Registrant Email Template, Recipient questions and answers will get in the email receipt and for Attendee Email Template, Attendees questions and answers will get in the email receipt.

              Is it possible to set up an email template that goes to an internal email address instead of a registrant or attendee? One of the custom questions we ask for our summer camp registrations is t-shirt size. We are limited on the number of licenses we can have for Salesforce, so I cannot give all of our summer camp teachers access to run reports. I run reports for them for all of the other custom questions, but the camp leaders need to have access to attendee t-shirt sizes. Is there a way to send and email to the leaders when someone registers?

                Good day @dturner

                It is not possible with the Registration Email but you may accomplish the above using C&P Autoresponder. You may set up the C&P Autoresponder to fire to a specific email address and list the other user's email under BCC, this way it won't fire to registrant but only to specific emails.
