  • temporary contacts issue

    We are having some problems with Temporary Contacts. Tried to convert a temp contact that made a donation, to new contact. Got this error message even though there are no duplicates of this contact. It is ID TC-2941 Error:

    Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: DUPLICATES_DETECTED, You're creating a duplicate record. We recommend you use an existing record instead.: []---228-------(CnP_PaaS)

    Also, the person who was handling our last event has quit and I am now looking into all the temporary contacts that are still listed! But something strange...there are 91 of them all created on the same day, same time, 7/20/16 at 4:57 am. When I try to process them, they refer to an event in 2015. I don't know what to do with them or how to get rid of them. Can't find a way to delete a temp contact. Thanks for any help you can give me. I have granted you access. org ID 00DA0000000Zunn

    Those temp contacts are there since you upgraded to 4.1x. These contacts are all temps from your Attendees that you had ignored before. From the release of 4.1x we simply show all temps in one view instead of showing up separately for attendees and registrants / payers. We noticed that most clients do not see the attendee temps and are ignoring them - in the release notes we state that these contacts are now one and the view at the top shows you that they are attendees.

    You need to settle those as once deleted all your attendees will show as not assigned to any contacts and those contacts will not show these attendees as attended any events

    However, regarding the above error, we noticed that you are at outdated version of our apps. We recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it may fix the issue. Please let us know so that we will proceed to upgrade your instance.

      "and the view at the top shows you that they are attendees"...which view at the top? I don't see where it shows that on the Temp Contact page. So even though we don't have any contact info on some of these attendees, nor did they pay to attend because they were guests of someone else, they show as a temp contact? I would prefer to just delete them, rather than add them to our contacts. Is there a way to do that? Yes, please do upgrade us. Thanks!

        They are in Temp contacts because of the settings you have under C&P Settings > Contacts & Accounts > Match Mode and Match Fields: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...ticles/1164726

        We DON'T recommend to delete those. However, you may do that through Maintenance under C&P Settings:

        Paste the order number of the respective temp contact under above field and delete ONLY "C&P Data (Includes C&P Temporary Contact and C&P Temporary Account)".

          We have upgraded your Salesforce instance as requested.

          It is absolutely important that you re-establish connection between Click & Pledge and Salesforce. With this update C&P Accounts are no longer needed to be added to Salesforce as the connection will automatically add the required information to Salesforce. It is extremely important that you login to the portal & re-establish connection. You may see that your account is already connected but this does not mean the new information has posted to Salesforce. With this release 2 more variables are added to Salesforce with each account and as such it is important that you login and set up the connection again for all your connected accounts.

            Thank you! I have re established the connection to SF. Still getting this error when I try to process the latest donation. It is not a duplicate. Error:

              Now I'm getting this error message when I try to convert some contacts in temp contacts:
              Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: FIELD_INTEGRITY_EXCEPTION, There's a problem with this country, even though it may appear correct. Please select a country/territory from the list of valid countries.: [MailingCountry]

              Error is in expression '{!SaveItem}' in component <apex:commandButton> in page cnp_paas_evt:eventtemporarycontact: (CnP_PaaS_EVT)

                We reviewed and identified the issue with processing Attendee temp contact. We are going to address the above issue in the next release. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

                However, for the time being, we can fix the issue for above temp contact order#1508242015498207432. Please share the ContactID you would like to merge with so that we proceed to fix it.

                  I decided I did not want to save that temp contact order #1508242015498207432 referenced above, so have deleted it. The 2 temp contacts left should not be merged with any existing contacts. They should both be new contacts. TC-2879 is an attendee of an event from couple years ago. TC-2941 is someone who donated to our site just a few days ago. They have different error messages. And how do I get rid of the temp contacts you made to test? Seems like there should be an easier way to delete a temp contact. Appreciate your help!

                    Good day @[email protected]

                    One of our developers reviewed your instance and noticed that you have installed "DupeCatcher" app in your instance which is causing the issue to process the Temp contacts. DupeCatcher having some triggers which is conflicting with our app and trying to validate the process and resulting error while processing the temp contacts. Those triggers is part of a managed package and cannot be disabled. The only solution is to un-install it if you are not using it and try to process the Temp contacts OR contact DupeCatcher support for further assistance.

                    Regarding those test temp contacts, we have deleted that for you. However, you may do that through Maintenance under C&P Settings.

                      OK. Yes, I do use DupeCatcher so will contact them. Have had it installed for couple of years. Wonder why it just now is causing a problem. Thanks for all you help.
