  • Card Swipe through Virtual Terminal

I would like to set up a credit card swipe option for our virtual terminal at events. Do we need to set up a separate merchant account to do this? (The video in the manual says we need an account and hardware from TransFirst). We are not able to use the embedded virtual terminal option since our Salesforce instance has Person Accounts enabled. Our SF ID is 00Di0000000eL4T.

If we need an additional account, is there an additional fee?

    Thank you,

    Good day @Mark Stark

If you referring to the card reader to swipe it in box office/virtual terminal no additional account is needed. You will need a USB card-reader which should be a 3-track "Keyboard Emulation" reader such as the Magtek 21040145.

While swiping the card, select the "Card Reader" from drop down menu under Payment Method > Credit Card > Entry Mode:

    Hope that helps.

Thank you, that is very helpful. We will test it and see if we can work around the lack of an embedded virtual terminal. Thank you
