Virtual Terminal Autoresponders Not Creating Activitiies records in Salesforce

I've set up an autoresponder for select Virtual Terminal transactions, and tested that it is sending out the email as expected. However, no matter what I select on the Create Activity History picklist on the Autoresponder settings, there is no activity history created on the Contact or Opportunity in Salesforce.
