  • How to get an opportunity created for a comped ticket?

I'm testing an event registration using a discount code which discounts 100% so the resulting charge is $0. The purchaser and attendee are added to the appropriate campaigns, but there is no opportunity created. In C&P Settings >> Opportunity, I did not select the "Except if Amount = 0" option. The Opportunity Amount is set to Gross Amount - Discount. I did not select the option to create a second opportunity for the Discount. I would expect to see a $0 opportunity to reflect the ticket "purchase". What am I missing?

    Good day snesson

This could be due to the C&P Settings but we are now a bit confused.

In a previous post you had issue with Org ID: 00Do0000000agMP -- this org does not have event installed so not sure what instance you are referring to.

If you want we can review the instance and we are assuming you are referring to a different org.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, this is a different org - 00Dj00000027m5C. You have access. This org has Events installed, and the event in question is still in test mode.

When dealing with a FREE event, the transaction posts as a custom payment type since it is not a credit card or echeck. Your setting is set NOT to create an opportunity if the payment method is $0.

If you want to create an opportunity for a specific custom payment type, e.g. FREE (if that name is used in event for free event) then enable the option and write free as the payment method. You have the option to create opportunity for any custom payment type by either adding * for all types or list them individually.

        Hope that helps.
