I have created an event site in our test mode, but now am trying to show someone else how to do so certain things...specifically, changing the Event Profile Image...and it will not change the image on the default template. What am I doing wrong?

Good day @ndlugajczyk,
We noticed that you are version behind from latest release. The image which you are referring is a social profile image and it won't appear in Site Template. That image is used to promote your Event in Social site. In the latest release we have renamed it to "Event Social Profile Image".
Would you like us to us to upgrade your instance with latest release, please let us know so that we can proceed to upgrade it.

We have upgraded your Salesforce instance as requested. Please re-upload the image and test it.
It is ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT that you re-establish connection between Click & Pledge and Salesforce. With this update C&P Accounts no longer are needed to be added to Salesforce as the connection will automatically add the required information to Salesforce. It is extremely important that you login to the portal & re-establish connection. To establish connection please see the following KB article: http://help.clickandpledge.com/custo...rticles/803669
You have a number of accounts, if you are connecting all your C&P accounts please connect one of them to Salesforce and use Connection sharing with the others. This way you only update one account and leave the rest as shared. Shared accounts use the connection from the first account and anytime you update it all shared accounts will share that same update. Direct connection allows only 4 accounts to be connected.

Okay we update the information, but I am still not sure where the Event Social Profile Image ends up. Previously there was a field that would update the image on the site template. Is there a way to do that with this field like with the other merge fields that are listed in the template? I have a number of people that will be creating events and I want them to be able to create them as seamlessly as possible using at default template. They are not tech savvy (even more than me) and and I can foresee problems with them going into and/or creating a template and having to make changes, such as with the image each time they create an event.

Good day @ndlugajczyk,
"Event Social Profile Image" will NOT appear in the Site Template. It is to appear in Social site to promote your Events (Facebook). We don't have any merge field for the Image in the previous versions nor in the current version.
You may can upload an image to the site template through CKEditor:
