  • Insufficient privileges and Registrant and Attendee Email Notification

    Two perhaps related issues:

    1. A user, Stephanie Noll, reported on March 2 the following:

I've been using the attendee and registrant reports at https://cnp-paas-evt.na15.visual.for...1ri00000015NoD to answer questions and offer customer service around AT Summit registration. This morning when I tried to pull the reports, I got a "insufficient privileges" message. I have at least one email in my inbox now I need to respond to about whether or not payment/registration went through. Do you have a magic key to restore my privileges (or another solution?)

I can't find the magic key. Can you help?

    2. I made changes to the
Attendee Email Notification for the same user. The event: https://cnp-paas-evt.na15.visual.force.com/apex/ManagingEvents?sfdc.tabName=01ri00000015NoD#. However, after registering for an event to test...I'm not getting either a Registrant or Attendee Email Notification. Nor am I getting the text contained in "Default System Receipt". I did receive an Invoice and PDF that looked less custom, more system generated...Very confused.

Finally, when an event is in ACTIVE mode is it possible to run through a test transaction with test credit card? I bought a ticket with a 100% discount (no charge), so didn't need to use a credit card, but not sure if that's best practice.

    Good day!

    Answers to your question:

1: The user you are referring to appears to have very basic permissions. Do you want us to add the permission for the report to the profile associated with that user?

2: Have you enabled the ticket to be sent to the attendee or registrant?

The system has to know that an email has to be sent. If you are using a ticket simply create a dummy ticket and check the ticket to be sent. Tickets are links that you may include in the body of the email. If you don't wish for ticket to be sent simply don't include the link.

    Hope that fixes it.

ON #2, we don't have a Ticket template set up; and don't have any "tickets" set for any of the Levels. But do we need that to send a Message to the Attendees and Registrants? See bottom of screenshot, below.

          Good day!

Just create a dummy ticket and assign the email to registrant or attendee to it.

You may use the same ticket for all levels- this is just a dummy placeholder. Once the system is set to send the letter it will send the email you have designed. If you don't have the link to the ticket it won't matter.

This behavior is changing in the next release- this was a quick fix for an issue we had when sending large number of tickets. In the next release this section is totally removed. For now if you do as I stated it will do what you want.

And adding on. With the new invoice -- that seems to have started generating post the recent upgrade of our instance -- Angie's personal cellphone is somehow now on the "newly generated" eInvoice?!

Very odd. So i created a "dummy" ticket, under "select eticket PDF" I selected "Dummy" for all levels and checked nothing else. Correct?

                Good day!

In the column "Send eTickets" choose Registrant and/or Attendee based on what you want. If you check the box for the registrant the email for registrant will be sent to the registrant and if checked for attendee the attendee email will be sent.

                You are almost done.

But won't that send an eTicket? If I select eTicket PDF -- then select to Send eTicket to Attendees, won't that send an eTicket? Because I don't want to send an eticket...I only want to send what we were previously sending! The "Registrant and Attendee Email Notification"...

No tickets or attachments are ever sent - if you include the link in the body of the email people can click it and download the tickets.

That checkbox will simply send that email and depending on the content people can download the ticket if you include it.
