I would like to have a select list available when people are registering so they can say which board member invited them to the event. Is it possible to pull a dynamic list of contacts and then put the registrant's selection on their opportunity or campaign membership? Even a static list where I can show the contact name and save the contact id would work.

The question is being asked from the "Registrant" so the answer to the custom question may be mapped to the opportunity.

The problem is I want to show the name of the contact but I want it to save the contact id of the contact in Salesforce. Is this possible?Comment

The label / value combination is not currently available. It is added as a feature request for the next release.
Currently you can do field mapping and based on the answer save a specific field in the opportunity / contact / account objects.
If the question is: who are you?
& the answer is: john smith
replace with: 1x4232r4r433
