  • Tracking Event Opportunities against Household Donation Information

    Reference Opportunity: https://na25.salesforce.com/0063100000c2SEr

This transaction, the person used a discount code and that is reflected in the C&P discount code.

    Reference Payment: https://na25.salesforce.com/a053100000fRgMB

This transaction shows that the Payment Amount is $200

    Reference Account: https://na25.salesforce.com/001i0000...Z&nooverride=1

Because of this, it looks like this client has donated $200 more than they actually did.

Do I have something wonky set up or is that the way it is supposed to be?

    Thank you! Faith

    Good day!

This issue was discussed during the office hour and as such was not updated here.

The discount is a separate field in the opportunity record. We will be adding a feature in release 10 allowing for the NET amount to be used for the opportunity rather than the gross amount. This could help with what you are trying to do.

Our philosophy with data is not to save any "calculated" fields and always save the "raw" data. An opportunity amount is the exact amount that was the price for the item and the discount is saved in another field. You may also set the C&P Settings to save the Discount as a separate negative opportunity if you want.
