    We've added a lookup on the campaign member to Opportunities, so we can tie each campaign member (attendee at an event) with the specific opportunity used to purchase the ticket. We do not allow anonymous tickets. So if 8 tickets are purchased through C&P, we get 8 opportunities and 8 campaign members. Is there any relationship, maybe the ticket GUID that can be used to map these to each other?

    Additionally, is there a setting to only generate one opportunity, even when multiple tickets are purchased? We don't need each Campaign Member to come from a unique opportunity. For manual sales we enter one opportunity. Each campaign member is tied to that one.

    Good day!

    Each ticket is an opportunity and at this time this cannot be changed. We can add this as a feature request but it will create problems down the road with the transaction and tracking.

    To see registrations simply go to the registrant and you will see all attendees registered by that registration. Event > Registrations.

    We are currently working on an update due later in April where you can set up dynamic campaigns as child campaigns for the level making each "Registration" a child campaign. This way someone registering 8 people will become 1 campaign under the attendee name (customization of name is a feature), e.g. Table Captain.

      Thanks for your quick response.

      Each ticket being it's own opportunity is fine with us. The new features sounds like it will help grouping the campaign members. What we hope to achieve is to match each campaign member with the opportunity used to purchase that ticket. I will add this as a feature request.

        Good day!

        The feature you are asking for is something we have considered at length. Here is the challenge:
        • The same person cannot be added more than once as a campaign member
        • The same person may be registered more than once or the same campaign may be used for multiple levels
        How can we identify the same person twice given the order number is different, in other words if the Contact is already there with one order number how can we add the Contact again with a new order number, given that we cannot add that Contact again.

          I appreciate the explanation and the challenges you face meeting diverse needs. You have an error detection in place that prevents a duplicate campaign member from crashing the process. A new attendee record is created for the contact, but they are only a campaign member once.

          I realize we are trying to fit our existing structure into yours. I will take a closer look at the C&P event registrant & registered attendees objects to see if I can meet the reporting requirements for ticket sales via them rather than the campaign. Is there a way to match an attendee record with an opportunity? If not, is that something more easily achievable in the future?
