  • C&P Events object permissions VICIOUS CIRCLE - can't customize profiles not using C&P

I need to change a profile ("Forms") but it is not allowed because the following error statement keeps coming up. I can't change C&P Events, bc is requires C&P Events Listings to be changed first. And vice versa.

    Example Error:
    Please fix the following:
    • Permission Create C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Create C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Delete C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Delete C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Edit C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Edit C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Read C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Read C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
    • Permission Create C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Event Listings
    • Permission Delete C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Event Listings
    • Permission Edit C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Event Listings
    • Permission Read C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Event Listings

Go to change permissions on C&P Events and you get into the vicious circle with C&P Event Listings object.

      Good day!

We reviewed your account and noticed the post-installation was not complete. We completed the post-installation for http://ifi.force.com/events

You may assign the permission set to any user you want as permission sets cannot be assigned to profiles - a Salesforce limitation as it appears.

If you wish for us to assign it to any user let us know. The process is described in our manual at: http://manual.clickandpledge.com/Sal...et_Assignments

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Your Answer does not fix the probelm.

        CnP,

Thank you for you reply. However, even with the completed post-installation, we can NOT change this profile in:
        1. One our production (not important now)
        2. our sandbox: AppTest1 (VERY important)
        3. our sandbox: CnP (important)

        Could you please:
        1. log into the the AppTest1 sandbox
        2. go to Setup>Manage Users>Profiles>"Forms"
        3. try to edit the Campaign Settings to include "Delete"

When you do this, you will see the error message I have been talking about. I have given you specific access to this sandbox, but you should have access to them all from the master account, which I also gave access to. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

        Sincerely,
        IT Staff

          Good day!

We have given the 'Delete', permission over the 'Campaign' Object for the Profile - 'Forms'... at Sandbox Org (00DZ000000MiZ6j)

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

            C&P Community,

If you happen to have this problem, don't bother with putting something on this forum. Go directly to support and open a ticket. C&P won't tell you what the problem is or how they fixed it, but they will fix it!

              Good day!

We really did not do anything special - we simply gave that user delete permission which is a Salesforce issue & not a C&P issue.

The post-installation has all that we do explained in detail. We always try to help and do it for you instead of sending you long instructions on how to get in all those Salesforce pages to set the permission to the object.

You don't have to do this each time but if you want detailed instructions let us know.
