I removed the value from "People of Color Sangha with Lama Rod Owens", but it appears that it has already been removed from "Diving Deep: Living the Satipatthana Sutta", but only yesterday, so I believe you are in good shape now.

That is very strange but I'm so happy that you found the issue! I did not create these events any differently than the others so I'm not sure why that field populated, but yes, you're welcome to remove that field content directly on those Events and I will be able to now troubleshoot this if I find this happens again when I create an event. I'll let you know if it's populating with new events I create as well.

    OK Lani,

I believe I have found your problem.

When looking at the actual event data stored in Salesforce - there is a difference in a field called "Update Opportunity Contact Name".

On the People of Color Sangha event whose Opportunities were not creating Contact Roles - this is set to npsp__Primary_Contact
On the Cultivating and Deepening event whose Opportunities correctly get Contact Roles it is blank.

I cloned the People of Color Sangha event and tested a Registration and did not get a Contact Role on the Opportunity
After I noticed this deviation, I went into the backend and removed this value from my cloned event.
A 2nd test registration after this change did receive a Contact Role and Primary Contact.

I have not changed the values on your existing events. We always advise users to never modify data directly in the object like this, so if you are OK for me to change those for you I will.

I will have to discuss with our team how this field received a value- I am not aware what could have set this value within Event Management.

Let me know if you would like me to correct the values in the two events you mentioned.

Thank you for working on this.
The Opportunity/Product mapping for events that work have both the mapping above and the mapping that has nothing defined. I am literally experiencing where events created before last week (regardless of the mapping above) find the Primary Contact and events created after last week do not. There does not seem to be anything different at all in the settings for the events in Click & Pledge (I'd be happy to provide you with examples of Events that do not have the mapping above that also work)

I'm really really really disappointed in this answer and I need a fix for this now.
The formula field you see has absolutely no code associated with it.
I deleted it and retested and the behavior is the same.

I need you to solve this issue as this is a Click and Pledge issue as there is literally nothing different about these events. I have show you two events that are exactly the same in your package where one finds the Primary contact and one doesn't. We are going live in a couple of days and this one bug is holding us up. This is not a NPSP issue. There are two events made in your package that are behaving differently for no reason. This means it is a C&P issue.

Please please please please please figure out why some of your events will connect a primary contact and others wont.

This is the opportunity I just tested with no Primary Contact on the Diving Deep event: https://na50.salesforce.com/0066A000007yx4R

    Good day @lanirowe

We reviewed the above 3 events and related opportunities you shared and found that you have defined a formula for the opportunity: Primary Contact = Registered Attendee. We noticed that in case of this field checked NO Primary Contact getting assigned. You will need to review/remove the above formula and test it.

Please note that since there are NO contact role settings in C&P Settings, we don't create a contact role nor assign the Primary Contact. The reason you see it creates in some events and not in others because it depends on your instance settings as well as other application settings too.

This really was not helpful. I just showed you two events exactly basically the same and one where the Primary Contact is found and one where it isn't. The settings are exactly the same for both events: again, one finds the Primary Contact and one doesn't. And the setting for NP Starter Pack should apply. Please reply with an answer that explains why one would work fine but the other doesn't.

Currently, when I create two new events now this is the error that I'm getting, i.e. no Primary Contact associated. This did not happen to any other event I created before last week.

The events that don't work (i.e. don't associate the Primary Contact on the opportunity when we register a person) are
Diving Deep: Living the Satipatthana Sutta
    https://na50.salesforce.com/a2M6A000000MmwF
People of Color Sangha with Lama Rod Owens
    https://na50.salesforce.com/a2M6A000000MmwKUAS

An event that does work is
Cultivating and Deepening in Lovingkindness Practice

    Good day @lanirowe

Primary Contact depends on the contact role and we found that you haven't define Contact role settings under C&P Settings >> Opportunity >> Contact Role. In this case, the NPSP settings will apply and based on Contact role it will assign the primary contact to the opportunity.

Ok. I get that. But the Opportunities are still not being associated with the correct Primary Contact.

This is an example of an Opportunity for an anonymous sit that works: https://na50.lightning.force.com/lig...07ys1lQAA/view (Cultivating and Deepening in Lovingkindness Practice - a2M6A000000MluuUAC)

This is an example of an Opportunity associated with a2M6A000000MmwKUAS - People of Color Sangha with Lama Rod Owens:

Notice the Primary Contact is not being assigned: https://na50.lightning.force.com/lig...07yrwMQAQ/view

    Good day @lanirowe

Please note that for the Anonymous Event, Contact information will NOT collect from Attendees and what you see in the above image is expected behavior.

    Hi,
I'm getting this same issue for anonymous registration for two new events that I posted.
    C&P Account:
    50436
    Salesforce ID: 00D6A000001iJUV
a2M6A000000MmwKUAS - People of Color Sangha with Lama Rod Owens
a2M6A000000MmwFUAS - Diving Deep: Living the Satipatthana Sutta

Same issue, Registrants finds the contact, Registered Attendees does not. This results in the Opportunity not logging the Primary Contact. Thanks.

    Lani

    Good day Eric,

The issue was with the permissions for your user. We added the proper permission sets to your user and now it works.

Please test it and let us know if we can be of more assistance.

160411112119091 and 160411114157708 both had this problem. Both of which are contacts in SF.

    I've attached a screenshot.
