C&P Events object permissions VICIOUS CIRCLE - can't customize profiles not using C&P

Hello,
I am trying to customize settings for a user profile. This profile will have limited access to records and reporting. But every time I try to edit the profile's Object Settings I get the yellow and red "Please fix the following:" error message. When I try to change the permissions it says I need to, I can't change that one b/c another C&P object needs it's permissions changed first! I have followed the path and hit a wall where I cannot edit C&P Events object until I fix the C&P Events Listings object. But I can't change the C&P Event Listings object permissions until I change the C&P Events object permissions. Seriously? Profile permissions are a mess for those profiles I want to use C&P apps, now they are interfering with user profiles that should not have anything to do with C&P apps at all. PLEASE help sort this out.

• Permission Edit C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
• Permission Edit C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
• Permission Read C&P Event Device Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events
• Permission Read C&P Event Listing Junction depends on permission(s): Read C&P Events

Go to change permissions on C&P Events and you get into the vicious circle with C&P Event Listings object.

Other facts:
The profile I am trying to change is ECM Stan. Platform Intake Specialist
C&P Contact record type has interfered with our regular operations before. Don't know if it's related again.
