Registrant vs Attendee

If one person registers for an event, it also wants attendee information (which would be the same for that one person) and puts that person in temporary contacts twice. I just want someone to be able to register for an event and have to put their information in once and go into the temporary contacts once, as well. Any way to fix this?

Also, originally I was hoping to have that one person buy a table of 10, but all the attendee names would be required when they may not have each name at that time. Any way around this?

There are 2 types of registrations.

1. Anonymous: The registrant information is the only information collected and attendees are simply ticket counts. In this case a registrant purchases N tickets and then enters his/her information when making the payment or completing the registration in case of free events.
2. Not Anonymous (aka Named registration): In this case the name of each attendee is collected so a registrant enters the name of each attendee and completes the registrations. The named registration is designed for when someone registers N number of people and the registrant may not be one of the attendees.

In your case, if the registrant is the ONLY person registering, you may want to change the event type to anonymous. Please note that you cannot change an active event to anonymous if it is not anonymous already. The setting is in the Basic information as shown below:




In the current release all attendees need to be entered as there is no option for skipping it.

In release 10.x, due out later this year, this option will be available as it requires a portal for allowing the registrant to enter the information at a later date.

I am so excited to hear that there will be an option to enter attendee information at a later date in an upcoming release. I am trying to do a workaround on that right now!
