Good day!
I agree with you 200% - Swiper1 offers you a great deal of features but naturally one has to know how it works.
In this case I agree that it is best if you create a dummy event and test with it. Register people and check them in and out. Setting up a dummy event makes the most sense.
When is the event?
Swiper1 5.x is coming out before the end of September and will have several new features for events.

testing and training Swiper check-in & check-out

I think I did not do a good job of explaining what I want to test.
Yes I know I can make a test registration using the 4111... card # this seems to work fine.
What I want to test, learn how to use and train my staff is on the swiper check-in and check-out process. We MUST be able to test and train staff because this MUST work perfectly and seamlessly on the day of the event. We can NOT have staff learning as customers arrive and check-in and check-out.

Good day!
Each event has 3 modes: Test, Active, Inactive
You may place the event in TEST mode and use the 4111111111111111 card number to complete the registration.
In 2 weeks (hopefully!) we will be releasing the first beta (production release) of 3.x - the 3.x version will be released in chunks as beta in this forum but not to the appExchange. One of its features is the ability to delete test transactions in event.
Please let me know if that answers your question.

testing and training Swiper check-in & check-out
We are planning an event and we will be using the swiper for the first time. We want to test and train our staff on how to do the on-site check-in and check-out process. Is there a "test mode"?
The only idea I have to try this before the event is to make a dummy event, have a bunch of dummy registrations and then try it.
Is there a better way??
