• Looking for Help! Event Manager Site Blank

    Hello All,

I thought I followed all of the instructions for setting up an event correctly in Salesforce but I seem to have done something wrong! Whenever I select the link that I have set up as my force.com site page (same one for the SalesForce Public Site URL), it pulls up a blank page. However, if I select the link on the Basic Information page that reads event-site it goes to the page correctly.

Also whenever I attempt to put through a transaction to test it, I receive the following notice. Does anyone have any advice on what I might be doing wrong?

Thank you!

David Millar

Good day!

Sorry for the trouble you are experiencing. The issue you are reporting has to do with the post-installation permissions.

Please grant us login access and we will review your post-installation and fix it for you. You have missed a permission for one of the fields.

    How to grant access: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/showthread.php?t=1065
Please make sure to post your organization name & the Salesforce Organization ID so we know how to locate your instance.
    Regards,

        Good day!

We reviewed your account and noticed that you have created a separate site for each of your events. You don't need to set up a site for each event as events are identified by their ID and not the site.

The post-installation needs to be performed for each site and considering it is a lengthy process it is best to simply have 1 site that is set for all your events. See below:

Please let us know which of these sites you want to perform the post-installation on. As I suggested earlier you may want to name the site something like "event" and use it for all events.

Let us know how you wish to proceed.

Thank you for your assistance! If we could have the post installation done on the FBLI2015 site and rename it FBLI, it would be much appreciated!

          Thank you!

Thank you very much for your assistance! Unfortunately we still seem to having issues with getting our page to view correctly.
My understanding is that whatever we have our registration page be (in this case /FBLI2015) should resolve in our registration site. However instead it appears to try and resolve into https://foodbanking.secure.force.com/EventTest due to the error message that I receive (see screenshot).

Do you have any suggestions? I have reenabled support access.

                Good day!

We did the post-installation for the site titled: FBLI

You are using a different page than the one we set up. It is truly best if you use one page for all your events and anything else with Click & Pledge, e.g. images for the autoresponder or invoices.

The page is simply used for the action while the event is based on the parameters. One page for all will help you with not having to do post-installation constantly.

Please change your event site URL to FBLI instead of FBLI2015 and it will work fine.

Please let me know if we can be of more assistance.

                  Good day again!

You are also using the old release of events. If you want we can upgrade you to the latest release.

It is best to upgrade to the latest release since the version you have may not work well with IE 11.

Please let us know if you wish to be upgraded and I will schedule it for you.

Does the upgrade affect any other parts of Click and Pledge? If not please go ahead and upgrade!

Separately, the link now partially works, but we're hoping to send out a simple link such as https://foodbanking.secure.force.com/FBLI, unfortunately that link does not work though the link with the specific event id amended to the back does. Is there anyway to have the simple link direct to that event page? When I attempt to go to the page I receive this notice

                      Good day!

We upgraded your instance to the latest release of all apps.

Your link cannot possibly be what you have in mind. Salesforce has a base URL and the rest are database parameters identifying the event. The full URL has to be used. The URL is provided to you with the VIEW link and that full URL has to be used.

You may want to use a URL shortening site such as bit.ly to shorten the URL.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
