  • rookie questions for first project

    Hi all,

Hoping that someone can fire back some quick answers to the following questions, to help me through my first project and save me digging through the (great!) documentation and posts.

    a. is there a maximum number of custom questions that can be placed on a form and synchronised back to Salesforce?

    b. additional to the event inventory feature, is there a waiting list feature?

    c. can discount codes be unique (specific to individual) or generic (for shared, repeat use)? For unique codes, does the system know when they have been used, and prevent further use?

    d. is there any option to build a membership-style community for returning registrants? ie to be able to allow returning users to login and to remember previously-stored contact and custom details? If no native feature, could this be achieved using Salesforce Communities?

    e. Does a returning contact who completes a new form with updated address details allow the Salesforce contact record to be updated with these details?

    f. Am I correct in assuming that payment can be processed at an event, using a mobile app or other payment device?

    g. can anyone point me at good documentation for setting up packages of events? I need to be able to set up and sell eg "October event series", which is 4 x weekly events throughout October. These would typically comprise individual events which may also be sold separately (on a different form on the website).

    h. are there any Salesforce license type dependencies? Are there any restrictions if the Salesforce Org only has users on Force.com Platform licenses and not full Salesforce licenses.

Many thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

    Rob

    Good day!

Answers to your questions are as follows:

    1. is there a maximum number of custom questions that can be placed on a form and synchronised back to Salesforce?
      • REPLY: No- all questions are question / answer pairs and there is no limit on how many may post.

    2. additional to the event inventory feature, is there a waiting list feature?
      • REPLY: No - at this time we don't have a waiting list

    3. can discount codes be unique (specific to individual) or generic (for shared, repeat use)? For unique codes, does the system know when they have been used, and prevent further use?
      • REPLY: Discount codes have inventory so one may name a discount code with inventory of 1 as unique. Inventory is enforced for all discount codes.

    4. is there any option to build a membership-style community for returning registrants? ie to be able to allow returning users to login and to remember previously-stored contact and custom details? If no native feature, could this be achieved using Salesforce Communities?
      • REPLY: Using our Salesforce API Class Library anyone can design anything they want like creating forms in the Salesforce Communities. Currently this feature is not available but it is in our roadmap

    5. Does a returning contact who completes a new form with updated address details allow the Salesforce contact record to be updated with these details?
      • REPLY: By design we don't update records since we have no way of knowing if the data is correct. We save all data as alias information and manually you may push it to the contact record by clicking a button in the alias record. All information entered by the patron are saved as alias if referring to an existing contact.

    6. Am I correct in assuming that payment can be processed at an event, using a mobile app or other payment device?
      • REPLY: Yes - our Swiper1 gives you that ability. Using our virtual terminal in Salesforce you may achieve the same.

    7. can anyone point me at good documentation for setting up packages of events? I need to be able to set up and sell eg "October event series", which is 4 x weekly events throughout October. These would typically comprise individual events which may also be sold separately (on a different form on the website).
      • REPLY: Events are level based and may be cloned and saved as other events. We have a lot of videos on how to create an event and take advantage of all its features. Have you reviewed the videos on event?

    8. are there any Salesforce license type dependencies? Are there any restrictions if the Salesforce Org only has users on Force.com Platform licenses and not full Salesforce licenses.
      • REPLY: Our application runs on Salesforce Enterprise since that is the version that allows for a number of features we use. The user that connects Click & Pledge to Salesforce has to be an admin user so it can create contacts, accounts, etc. beyond that we don't have any restrictions.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
