  • Coupon codes - event vs level

I previously set up a coupon code for an active event (Spark 2015). That coupon code was an event-wide discount plan.

Recently, I set up various coupon codes for this event that are level-based discount plans. I had no issue in creating these code even though there is a message on the page: (Only one discount type may apply to event)

Now all these level based coupons display as inactive and don't work.

How can I get these coupons to work?

    Good day @Radha,

You may only use ONE of the 2 options. An event may have "Level" discount OR "Event" Discount. This is why we have a pull down menu that you choose the active discount type. The ones that are not selected will be set to inactive. Please see below:

I hope this answers your question.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Yes, I understand that I can only have one type. Now I just want to know how to fix the situation I'm in .

If I delete the event plan, will the level plans become active? Is there another work around? My priority is to get the level-based coupons to work at this point.

      Best,
      Radha

        HI Radha,

It is simple. Just choose Level discount to make that work. You need to have one level active.

Just go there to the Discount tab and choose Level from the pick list.

Have you tried that? that is all you have to do.

          Thanks! That did it.

Since that field is a drop down, it's not obvious that the functionality changes when you select a different option from the menu. From a user POV, it appears to be simply a change in view.

            Good day @Radha,

Do you think a radio button will be better?

We have played with many variations and can't quite settle on one that is more intuitive. If you have ideas that may work we are listening!

Yes, I personally think a radio button would be more intuitive. Also, if the text were more clear, that would be helpful. Something like "Please select which coupon type is active" as a prompt before the field.

                Good day!

Sure.. we will test it and if anyone complains we know which post to refer them to.

We will see if we can make adjustments in release 4.x due out next month.
