Are there, or is there scheduled to be, mobile friendly event registration pages?

This solution does not work. Even with the elimination of most columns, the use of mobile phones still cut off the right side of the grid. This delay on your part is unacceptable. Even in 2017, our society moved boldly to "mobile-first". Your company could do the same as you recommend by hiring someone to add code to your default registration block to allow our attendees to use small devices to register for our event.

We do not yet have a mobile version for Events. You do have some flexibility to make the existing registration form work well in a narrower window, but this varies a lot based on how you created your event.

The strategy is to reduce anything you can on the page that might lock the width.

If you have a secure website that is already responsive
    • Embed just the registration form/block on your page using the iframe code on the Event Name - Basic Information page.

Then you only need to focus on reducing the width of the registration block.
    • Reduce the width of the Registration Block by hiding any columns that are not essential for the Site user to see when they are registering. You can do this under Event Name > Additional Information > Registration Field Visibility. You can hide all the columns but Level Name and Register.
If you don't have a secure site, and need to use the Salesforce site to be secure
    • Use a Site template where the frame only has a single column. For example, the default site is a single column, but the Callisto, Metis, and Thebe templates have columns that will require extra width.
    • Make sure any elements that YOU add to the Site Template don't lock the width. Typically this is going to be your images.
      • In your Image Properties (select the image, click the picture icon in the editor)
      • Set your width and height to 100%, keep the lock symbol 'locked' (so your image isn't squished or stretched when it is resized)

Test your event on a mobile phone to see what may still be an obstacle. You may still be able to reduce the width further by altering labels and text fields. If these changes are not enough to help the appearance of your event page on a phone, there are additional ways the width can be reduced, but require someone with strong HTML and CSS skills. We'll be glad to take a look at your page and suggest anything you may have missed following these steps.

This is causing problems with an event registration we have and it's a pretty big deals (presidential candidates in another country). Do they have mobile version of the events?

    Hello, CnP.Support !

I would also like to follow up on the mobile-responsiveness of the event registration pages. Is that still planned for release 10 this year? We created our first event last week and were surprised to find out the page wasn't mobile-responsive. We're loving the Templates in Connect and would love to have some of the same functionality for events!

    Thanks!

Hello - I have a follow-up question about this: it's not just the pop-up on the event registration that is a problem on mobile, but the reg form also doesn't resize for portrait layout. So for example -if you look at this registration form on an iPhone ( I am using an iPhone 6) - if I look at this form with my phone in portrait mode, half the form is cutoff. It looks fine once I rotate to landscape, but most people look at their phones first in portrait mode. Is fixing this part of release 10.x? Or have I done something incorrect in how I laid out my registration form? Thanks, Louise

    Good day!

Yes we are working on a version that will not have the current pop-up to make it easier on mobile.

The challenge is, while all things mobile is a great thing, completing a registration with 10 levels and 20 custom questions on top of billing address and contact information is really not practical. Completing a detailed registration form on an iPhone 5 with a small screen is more of an exercise in patience than anything else.

The release 10.x has a completely different design with a flat page that will scroll down and paginate without pop-up so it will be responsive.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
