  • Opportunities on Events with Two or More Registrations

We allow customers to register more than one person on an event. This works fine but the problem is the Opportunity is created on both contacts and the amount of each opportunity is the total amount of the transaction.

For Example - Bob registers himself and Susan for an event that costs $25 per person. There are two opportunities created, one for Bob for $50 and one for Susan for $50. Since Bob only paid a total of $50 it leaves a remaining balance of $25 on each Opportunity.

    The C&P Portal shows correctly.

Is there something we have setup wrong or is this working as intended?

    Good day!

This is a bit strange and not logical.

Please grant us access so we can review your instance. Do you know which version is installed?

    How to grant access: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/showthread.php?t=1065
Please make sure to post your organization name & the Salesforce Organization ID so we know how to locate your instance.

        Good day!

We reviewed your instance and cannot find any incident of what you are referring to.

The app is designed such that if 1 person pays $50 and registers 2 people for a level that is $25 there should be 2 opportunities each for $25. Each ticket (registration) will be for $25 and as such 2 opportunities will be created.

If you believe your case is not the same please let me know the registration that is doing what you are describing. You can include in this thread the first name and last initial or the contact ID and we will locate and review it.

You are also on an older release. If you wish we can upgrade your instance to the latest release, even though the case you are referring to does not seem to be a bug or at least we can't see it.

Waiting to hear back from you.

Look at A. Sanchez. There were two people, A. Sanchez and P. Parks (we manually adjusted it) but the total charge was $95 and there were two Opportunities created each for $190 and showing paid with a remaining balance of $95 on each.

            Good day!

We reviewed your instance and upgraded all your applications to the latest version. The post-installation has also been completed.

In reference to your issue. Please see the C&P Data which was posted:

The above shows that the data posted has 2 opportunities with unit price $95. There is no way for this to create 2 opportunities each with $190 as the unit price. The system takes each Item and creates an opportunity from it. We have tested this many times and considering the number of instances of app that is in use we are a bit surprised of your report. It has never been reported and it is such a big issue that if it was to happen we would have heard about it.

We are keeping an eye on this and will continue testing. Next time please let us know before you change anything so we can review the raw data. For all practical purposes the C&P Data is what is created and is the absolute point of reference.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

I have an example now that hasn't been corrected. See W. Hosler record. Three opportunities for $234.99. Our SF ID is 00Di0000000Y4QJ and I have granted you access. Thanks.

                Good day!

We have reviewed your instance and as stated before the issue is not with the application but with your custom trigger that you have written.

                The Trigger: Opportunity Triggers

This trigger is changing the total of the opportunity.

We know our app is working since we have tested it (& repeated again based on this post) and the totals are all correct.

Please review your trigger and make sure it is not interfering with our triggers. The trigger appears to change the totals.
