Blank XML being dumped into C&P Alias Contact Data field

Some of the contacts created when people register for our event are getting weird blank XLM dumped into the Alias Contact Data field.

Here is an example:

Do you know what could be causing this, and/or what we can do to fix it?

Do you know if these contacts have been changed to real Contacts? Want to make sure they are not in Temp.

Now I know what you are referring to.

The XML you are seeing includes those fields that are mapped to the Attendee or Payee contact record that is not available in the C&P Alias. If the contact exists and the information provided is different from the one in the Contact record we will create an ALIAS for that contact. The challenge is the ALIAS object has only the fields that are included with the payment and not any custom fields so what should we do with the new fields that cannot be mapped into the Alias record?

We save the "extra" information as XML for reference in case it is needed. All fields are available in the report but only those extra fields are kept in the XML.
