    Good day!

We have upgraded your instance to the latest release of all apps. Please review and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Payment should be created by NPSP.

Yes, there is an opportunity but no Payment. Shall I check with the SalesForce folks about why no Payment was created? It has been working fine for all the ones I have been entering; this is the only hiccup I know of.

But maybe it doesn't do one, when C&P is working - I do see that there is an appropriate amount posted to the correct fund, which I don't know if it does until there's a payment?

    Leslie,

Has there been an opportunity? If you have an opportunity but no payment then it is NPSP that is not creating it. NPSP creates a Payment record on creation of new opportunities.

    Leslie,

I suggest you upgrade but the only issue you need to be concerned with is the emails. The new system has a new tab called "Registration Emails" allowing you to create new emails for registrant or attendees based on various conditions.

In the old release you had the option to only create a single email to go out for registrant and one for attendees regardless of the payment method or the level registered for. In this release you can select which payment method should be used for the email and which attendee should get what email based on the registered level.

We can upgrade you and enable the emails by default and you can later go and add to it if you want to. Otherwise it is fully compatible.

I didn't know that it was only in NPSP that there was a Payment Object! Okay, I just learned another new thing today. Thanks again!

Meanwhile, no payment was created for the registration that I did with the "PaperChk" custom payment option. Do I need to worry about that?

I see in the link you sent to the announcements that it says that some upgrade features are not backwards compatible. Should we hold off on having the upgrade until our live event is done? Or is there a way to swap over to a new event built with the new version somewhat seamlessly? I only have one registrant so far...

    @Leslie Cox,

Oh! you are referring to the NPSP Payment object. We don't consider NPSP as Salesforce since NPSP is an app and the Payment is not in Salesforce but a feature of NPSP.

Payments are created by NPSP when a new opportunity is created. On new Opportunity a new payment will be automatically created by NPSP. Same is true when we create it with event- it should create an entry for Payment.

    Hope that helps.

Yes, it does answer the question; I may not have been right in calling it an object... Every Opportunity in SF (eventually, hopefully- ) has a Payment to show when it has been paid/completed. So, the field I'm looking for is the C&P Transaction then. Thank you for being able to interpret my badly phrased question. :-)

    Good day!

To receive notices of all updates and releases please subscribe to this channel: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/for...-announcements

We always post to the News channel all updates before our marketing sends any newsletters. Of course our newsletters have a 5% open rate so not sure anyone really reads them.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "Salesforce Payment". Salesforce does not have a "Payment" object that I am aware of.

The opportunities are created and the C&P Transaction is the parent object that shows the total payment while opportunities related to individual payments for each attendee.

    Hope that answers your question.

And an apppropriate opportunity was created from the check I input. What is the C&P object that equates to the SalesForce Payment?

    Good day!

The word Check is a reserved word in the version yo uare on. In the new release this restriction has been removed.

For now you can add ch.eck (or some variation of the word, e.g. chk) and update it after your instance has been updated to the latest release.

    Hope that answers your question.

In the Default Box Office settings, I attempted to add "Paper Check" and "Cash" and "PaperCheck" and also "Paper Check;Cash" - anything I type in gets the same error - "Please Enter Valid Custom Payment Name" -- WAIT - I did get it to add "Cash" (why it worked that time, I don't know) and then I added PaperChk because it didn't like any version with the word Check included, in spite of the demo I saw where one option was listed as "Paper Check". I will go test that to see if it will work.

Will a custom payment still generate an opportunity?
