Good day!
Sorry we missed answering this. We looked into this but forgot to respond.
The system is correct and behaving as intended. Here is what is going on.
A free event creates a $0 opportunity. All registrations become an Opportunity and since the event is free the price for the opportunity is $0.
The donation is another opportunity and as such an additional opportunity is created
I hope this answers your question. Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Duplicate $0 Opportunities Created for Each Transaction
We are experiencing an issue with our event registration for a free luncheon where, when a user registers as an individual and adds an additional donation via the "Add a Donation" box, it creates two opportunities in Salesforce - one is a transaction for the correct amount donated and the other is a $0 transaction showing the same amount charged. It makes it appear as though there was a double charge and is making our Opportunities a bit messy so if you could take a look at this, we need to figure out how to fix it.
When looking at our donations from last week or prior for our 2014 Give to Keep Luncheon event, you will find this occurring.
Our org ID is 00Di0000000iX2P and access has been granted. Thank you!Tags: None
