  • Swiper 1 and Box Office integration?

    Hello - just reviewed all the video tutorials and wanted to confirm that the following is correct:

    With Events 2.x, you can use Swiper 1 to check in event attendees who have already registered for the event. But you CAN NOT use Swiper 1 to register someone for the first time (i.e., the Box Office functionality of Events is NOT yet available on Swiper 1). Is this understanding correct? I am looking ahead to a race event next fall where we get a lot of people showing up that morning who haven't registered. It would be awesome if we could use Swiper 1 to register them onsite.

    Good day Louise,

    Swiper1 allows check-in and check-out for anyone that has registered for the event through the Box Office or the web form. Swiper1 does not register people or accept payment for the event - it simply checks in and checks out.

    In the next release we are adding the payment processing for event with the Swiper. This will be the release coming out in the Summer release.

    An update is due out in April which includes auto-attendant check-in where people can check themselves in.

      Hi - thank you so much - this answers my question. One follow up question: will this summer release also be the one where you fully integrate Events with Auctions? I can see that you are very close with 2.x...

        Hi Louise,

        Yes - that is the target but we are not saying much at this time.

        We are aiming for release of Auctions native integration with C&P in April. It is currently under test. With this release you don't need to use eVT anymore and Auctions will auto-detect C&P installation and makes all payment forms native without any additional work. Install Auctions and it will work automatically.

        David (the A4S author) will be reviewing the integration and will include it in the core so we don't need to install another app.

        This will be phase 1 of the deployment. Next phase.. more on that later.
