  • Getting "Authorization Required" after upgrade from 2.2002 to 2.3009

Hi, I have scoured the forums and understand that when this issue appears it is because post installation instructions were not followed. I had our system admin go through them and still we have the issue. I also did a spot check to make sure we had Enabled Visualforce Page Access.

Attendee information and registrant information is provided and then at the very end instead of giving the confirmation page, we get the Authorization Required error message.

Luckily we have tried the upgrade in the sandbox before attempting in our production instance.

    Please assist.

    Thanks
    Hellen

    Good day Hellen,

I know for a fact that there is a permission issue - that is why that page shows up.

Please grant us access and I will have one of our testers review your installation. I will let you know what we find out.

    How to grant access: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/showthread.php?t=1065

Thanks for the quick response. I have granted you access and our Salesforce.com Organization ID00DW00000076TyW. Please let me know which specific step we skipped in the post installation steps.

Also as a general rule, do we need to perform all these steps each time we upgrade?

        Good day!

No- not with every upgrade but please note that once we add a feature and that feature needs to be shown in the external page you have to give permission to that option.

I truly (& mean truly) wish there was an easier way but Salesforce does not let us automatically assign permission and it has to be done manually. If we could do it through a script during the installation we would have done it but that is not an option.

I will have one our engineers review your permission and will get back to you.

OK. Thank you. Looking forward to hearing what the developers find. Any idea of ETA so I know when to check back?

            Good day!

I just tried to login to your account and realized that the org ID you sent is not in our system. You had posted: ID00DW00000076TyW

Looking at your profile I noticed your organization is: "Year Up" [organization id: 00D5000000071yL]

Searching for your name I found your organization but we don't have login access to your account.

Please grant us access so we can review your account:

              Hi there!

00D5000000071yL is the organization ID of our Production instance.

We upgraded events in the sandbox. The account of this sandbox is 00DW00000076TyW and our C&P account that is connected to this is 25776. Does this help?

              Thanks
              Hellen

                Hi Hellen,

We have reviewed your account and have spent a great deal of time trying to figure out what is going on. We set up the debugging option and reviewed interactions:

The following error is being generated when you post the registration and that is why you are getting the authorization required. The authorization required page is simply a generic error page that is assigned when you set up the site.

Update failed. First exception on row 0 with id a1PW0000000uKuqMAE; first error: CANNOT_INSERT_UPDATE_ACTIVATE_ENTITY, CP_UpdateOppWithRegistrantEventSiteInformation: execution of AfterUpdate caused by: System.QueryException: List has no rows for assignment to SObject Trigger.CP_UpdateOppWithRegistrantEventSiteInforma tion: line 7, column 1: []
Error is in expression '{!PaymentAPIMethod}' in page cnp_paas_evt:externalregistrationpage

                CP_UpdateOppWithRegistrantEventSiteInformation on CnP_PaaS_EVT__Event_registrant_session__c object.

The above is your own custom trigger on one of our objects and that is what is causing the error. This is not the event management but your own trigger.

I hope you can find the bug in your trigger. The 2.x event has changed its structure so perhaps that is why the error is being caused by your earlier triggers.
                Regards,

Thank you so much for taking the time and for posting the error message. I will follow up and see what's up with our trigger. I will post back when we figure it out.

Again, thanks - I so appreciate your responsiveness.

                  Hellen
