  • Registration Page not Processing

    Hi,
When people are trying to register on our Summer Camp page, they complete all the information, and when they submit they get the little loading icon, and then nothing. It doesn't give them an error, and it doesn't say complete, it just shows the loading icon and sits on the same page. We don't get any record of them trying to apply either.

        Good day @Jenny,

We removed your test transactions and your inventory is now set to 0 sold.

Also tested the form and it works fine. We could register without any issues. Do you know what browser your patron was using?

We have tested this form with IE 9, 10, 11 and Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Opera and all work fine. Have you tested this yourself?

          Hi,
I had tested it myself. I do remember the 1st couple of times I tried to test the registration a couple weeks ago, I did have the same problem (with the loading icon and nothing processing), but I wasn't sure if it was a setting or something else I was missing. Then when I tried it the next day, it worked fine so I disregarded the issue.
I was using Chrome when I had the problem, but was also using Chrome when it worked the next day.
I have reached out to the patron to try to find out what browser they were using as well.

For the test transactions, is there a different way I should test so that it doesn't affect the inventory? Or is there a better way to reset it than trying to delete everything like I did?

This is one of those issues that no matter what we do is wrong. If we allow for testing of registration without affecting the inventory then we will get support calls that I tested and the inventory did not change. If we allow change of inventory then your issue comes up. If we allow for deletion of attendees and someone deletes an attendee what should we do with the payment? Each attendee is an opportunity and the entire transaction chain will fall apart.

I hope you see the problem.

No matter what we do is wrong. How can we possibly design an interface or a feature set that cannot possibly be broken if an attendee is to be deleted?

I do see the problem. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing for a better way to test. But from now on I will just adjust the inventory to include the tests.

For the processing problem, we have done quite a bit more testing and it seems hit or miss if it works. When it doesn't work, we have no record of it in Salesforce. When it doesn't work, the button says "Processing" and then the screen gets dark while you see that loading animation, and then the animation goes away, the button says "Process", and nothing has happened and there are no messages. Unfortunately we can't seem to reliably duplicate the problem which I understand makes it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to fix.

                Jenny,

Good to know. I will ask our testing team to test more. Is it OK if we run a few tests with your event? If not we will try to duplicate all your entries and test.

Yes you can test with the event. Here is a video we recorded too one time it didn't work (IE 11):

                    Good day!

The issue you are reporting was with IE 11 but several versions back. It was resolved with 2.3009 which you have installed. Is the recording from before or after the upgrade?

IE 11 behavior was specially handled in 2.3009 and that is why we are surprised- we have tested this on many computers but can't duplicate it. We are testing further but please let me know when did you record this video. Your system shows you upgraded to 2.3009 on February 11, 2013.

We just took the video yesterday. I believe it only happened the 1st time we tried to use a credit card on that browser, then we couldn't get it to happen again on IE 11.
