Event Templates not showing up

We are just getting started with the Event Management Application and I'm trying to set up a new event. When I get to the Event Template field the only option is Select. The drop-down list of available templates doesn't appear as I saw in the video. Since this is a required field, I am unable to move forward. Help please!

Good day Julie,

It seems like the default site is either deleted or somehow not installed. The default site should be there.

Regardless- it is easy.

Simply go to Designer > Site and create a site and save it. You may go through the designer and select one of the default ones, save it and then you will have a template to use.

When you say go to the Designer / Site, do you mean the Designer Tab in C&P Paas? If I go there and click on New, I can get to Selection but not Designer. Or is there a Designer tab in the Event Management app?

Here is where I am getting stuck on the event creation page. There is nothing to select.

You may create unlimited templates and designs. You may choose any of our many templates, create your own, or copy and paste your own HTML from external sources.

FYI - I had the same problem with the templates not showing up and was not able to even get this screen posted above to show up because I didn't have any events showing up in the new version of C&P Events. However, the app actually let me create a new event without selecting a template (which was confusing, since the interface makes it look as though selecting a template is a required field). I just created a 'test' event, with no template selected. As soon as I'd done that, I was able to click on that test event and get to the designer interface shown in the picture above. This may be a weird quirk related to folks who are upgrading from earlier versions of C&P Events. Also - I did go through and make sure that I'd done all the post-install steps for both C&P PaaS and C&P Events- it seemed like there are a bunch of steps in there that might affect the visibility of the designer.

It seems like in some instances the default template is not selected by default. We are testing to see why the default is not showing up in some upgrades. The problem is by default there is not a template that is assigned which by design it should be.

A template has to be present before the event may be setup through the basic information.

OK. In case this helps your trouble shooting, here are more details on what I experienced: I probably hadn't upgraded for 8 months or so, so was a few versions behind when I upgraded a week or so ago. I only had one event that had been created in the old version, and in the upgraded version this old event didn't show up anywhere in the new Events Management interface. Finally - and I swear on this - I was able to create a new event without selecting a template. I tried - but there were no templates to select on the basic info tab. It only allowed me to do this when I created that first event. Then I was able to use that first event to get into the C&P Designer and create a few templates. I should note too that when I went into C&P Designer - the default template was there. It just didn't show up in the drop down list on the basic info tab.

Now if I try to create an additional event, it forces me to select a template. But just for that first time, it let me create the event without selecting a template - so basically it was, I think, selecting the default template but didn't look like it was. Hope that helps!
