  • not processing invoices

I set up and tested an event and moved from "testing" to "active" state, but now find that C&P is rejecting registrations to be paid through invoices or $0 price registrations. I tried setting up an invoice policy and invoice through C&P invoice, but I only get a blank invoice when clicking "new invoice." I've looked at articles and videos on invoicing, but nothing gets me where I need to be. I am way behind on launching the registration site, so really need to get this problem solved. Also, is invoicing and processing a mailed check as an cCheck via the virtual terminal the proper way to handle mailed check payments? My event site is linked below. Our SF ID is 00Do0000000I9JC and you should still have access to our SF account.

    Good day!

Sorry for your trouble. The issue is you had disabled these payment methods in your portal so as a result it won't be available in your Salesforce. This is where it is:

I activated the methods that you needed, namely the Custom type which allows for free transactions. They were disabled and just needed to be checked.

Please test it now and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Thanks much for the quick response. That solved the problem for the $0 charge at least. Have not yet tested the invoice but will later today. I originally looked in the "accepted cards" area, but the only options shown were credit cards that we already accept. I further de-selected the eCheck and Purchase Order options and now those also do not show up as an option. Is there a way to have those options show up with the "Accept" boxes unselected? I may like to use those options in the future.

        Good day!

You don't have deselect them. Those are options available and may be selected locally in the applications.

Each application has the option for the payment methods to be used. Once you disable a payment option it will not be available and we have to enable them for you again.

Please leave the options in the global setting selected and in each application that you wish to use or not to use simply set it up accordingly. In event you can go to Event setting and disable them so they won't show up.

I will go ahead and enable it again for you.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

That explains it. A bit confusing when you are doing that for the first time. Changing settings that are invisible. Maybe something you want to think about changing. I will tell our other C&P staff to leave the organization settings alone and we will just use the options by application. Thanks again.

Checked the invoicing and it works, so we are cleared for launch, but it does not seem to connect to the invoice policy I set up in the C&P Invoice module. Is there a different way to edit invoices through event management?

              Good day!

May I ask what you mean by invoice policy?

The invoicing that is a payment method has nothing to do with the C&P Invoice in Salesforce. Invoicing is a legacy payment option that sends an email to the end user asking them to send the payment to you directly. It is used by the API & the checkout pages.

Salesforce invoice is a stand alone and does not connect to Event at this time. It is designed to be used as invoicing the clients directly. In the future we will integrate it with the event but at this time it is not.

So, does that mean that there is currently no way to edit the event manager invoices?

                  Good day!

Yes- at this time invoiced events cannot be edited. It is in the roadmap for inclusion in a future update.

Sorry for not being to address this need at this very moment.

Ok, so now that the registration is processed and the invoice is sent to the registrant, the entry appears with a status of "authorized" along with a net amount paid and the payment type of "invoice." However, there does not appear to be a way to track who has and has not paid on their invoices. They all look like they paid although we have yet to record any checks or other payments. Did I miss a step somewhere?

One other thing on invoices through event manager: when the registration is processed with an invoice payment type, no Salesforce opportunity is created. I can set them up manually and can then track payments, but that is a pain. Why aren't opportunities created, like they are with other payments?

                        Good day!

Please check C&P Settings > Opportunity - have you set it up to create opportunity?

If any of the listed payment types is unchecked it will not create an opportunity when that payment type is used.

Please let us know if this is checked.
