  • First Event in 8.x, Preview not working

Just created our first event since upgrading to version 8 of Events Management. Did some of the basic set up but we are unable to view the event registration pages. Maybe we missed some steps during configuration? Can you take a look and see what the issue is? Org ID 00Dd0000000i8lD.

    Thanks,
    Radha

    Good day Radha,

We reviewed your instance and noticed that the URL which you used at "SalesForce Public Site URL" is wrong. We have pasted correct URL and you can see your Event working.

Please check and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

    Thanks,

      Thank you!

Yes, I see that now the event works.

Now, how do we use unique URLs for each event? The URL you inserted is a generic event URL and not specific to the event I am creating.

      Thanks!

        Radha,

We are using salesforce public site to display registration form with a visualforce page. This is your site http://transgenderlawcenter.force.com/events. We are connecting a visualforce page to this site https://transgenderlawcenter.secure....0000006m1rxAAA

So displaying the appropriate content in the registration form.

Hope that answers your question. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

        Thanks,

          Thank you.

This is a bit unclear to me.

In the previous version of CnP events, we were able to publish multiple events at the same time, each with a different URL that included the name of the event.

What do we need to do to make this happen?

            Radha,

There is really nothing to be unclear about. Every event you create has its own link which is dynamically created by event id.

Create an event and check the VIEW link provided. The Event ID will identify which event you are referring to.

            Please see the image below:

once you enter the Public Site URL in the event settings area, the event link will auto-generate the link to the event.

I hope that answers your question.

Is there a way to customize the URL so that it is something user-friendly?

              For example:

                Good day Radha,

No there is not since this is a secure URL and as such has an SSK key associated with it. Payments are being processed and the card holder information has to be transmitted over an SSL connection. Security keys are issued to a fixed URL and cannot be changed since the integrity and trust is associated with the URL.

The event is hosted on Salesforce sites and your link is what will work there. Remember the link you are seeing is our demo and the first subdomain is ours. You need to set up your own sites in Salesforce so the prefix will be your domain name once set up.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions you may have.
