  • Lost default map widget code

Feeling a bit foolish, but I was messing with the code in the default map widget and fouled it up. I tried getting code from other map widgets out there but can't get it to work. Is there a place I can go to copy the code and paste it back in to restore it to the original. Or maybe someone could cut and paste theirs here for me.
Can you tell that I don't do "code/HTML"?
    Thanks

    Good day Tami,

    Please see: http://forums.clickandpledge.com/con...istration-page

You really don't need the default text as it is just an example. The above will show you the process and how it all works.

Let us know if you need any additional help.

Well, that is easy enough. I'm surprised that article didn't come up when I searched with words "widget", "event" "weather", etc. I tried tons of words and combinations of words to find the answer before posting my question. Maybe I don't understand how the search tool on this site works. Thank you for the reply.

        Tami,

This article was published this weekend so probably it was not yet published when you were searching.

Let us know if you find any point in the article ambiguous or needing more explanation.

Well, that would be pretty good explanation. Actually there is some ambiguity for a novice like me.
          1. Enter the event location address in the address bar
          2. Click on “Get Directions”
          3. Click on the link image

What do you mean by "link image". I just tried it. After I found the address, there was a blue link next to the bubble pin icon (not on the map proper) but in the left panel. I right clicked on the "1 Old Ferry Road" link that was in a blue box and underlined. I said to view page source and copied and pasted that HTML as my widget code. Didn't work. Your instruction document doesn't have active picture links yet, so maybe when those are finished, it will clarify what I've missed.
          Thanks

Well now there ya go. Easy as pie once you know where the oven is. Funny how "link image" makes perfect sense when you know what you are looking for. Thank you so much. Getting into the heads of your customers is not an easy thing to do.

                Tami,

As we always say around here.. it is hard not to know what you already know. In writing a manual one has to imagine that the end user does not know what we know and try to explain all that we may assume to be common sense.

Anything you find confusing let us know.

Google has changed interface. There is no longer a "chain link" icon.

Google has changed interface. There is no longer a "chain link" icon. You know have to click on the "gear" icon at the bottom right.

                    Good day!

The chain is now below the page. With the new event management you also don't need to do this anymore except if you want to create a widget.

Event Venue Google map is native as a selection.

First - Google map: (click the image to enlarge)

As for event - you may want to use the native map as provided in the system:

Using the Additional Information you may add the address for the venue: (click the image to enlarge)

and in the Designer > Sites add the Google Map in the designer.
                    (click the image to enlarge)

So either way you can take advantage of the Google Map - one way as a native widget and another way by copying the code from Google.

                    I hope that helps.
