Have you considered using the Salesforce Autoresponder?
The standard receipt does not that flexibility since it simply lists all items purchased in a list view. The items being purchased in this case are each level registered. With the Autoresponder you have all the flexibility you want.
Here is a thought and suggestion from our testing team. It may help.
As you know in Event you can pass hidden custom questions. The questions that are hidden will be passed on to the receipt but the end user will never see it in the form. The hidden question's answer will appear on the receipt.
So set up a custom question and add the answer (event name) to the question. Set the question to hidden and save.
Thanks for the additional thought, but I think I will just set up the autoresponder. We will use the autoresponder for other items as well. I just wondered if the regular receipt could be set up to have the event the title.
