  • Event Post Installation - Public Access Settings Step

The instructions for post installation of the events has a step for editing the Public Access Settings. However, the screens and options they display in the instructions are nothing like the actual screen setting on Salesforce. In fact, the entire document looks outdated. *see attached for what I am suppose to do).

Can anyone please advise on the correct post installation instruction for event management.

    Good day!

Would you please let me know what your options are for the Setup (Setup > App Setup > Customize > User Interface)

Based on your options here the interface changes. The interface in the manual is based on the default settings in this page.

Let me know what options you have setup so we can determine your settings.

See attached for those options on my system. Note: The path to get there was different than what you advised.

I think I am on a different interface version ?

        Good day!

As you see you have enabled the "Enhanced Profile Setup" so you have changed your interface.

May I suggest that you set it to the default as shown on the image I posted. Each setting changes the interface and I hope you realize that we can't possibly have the manual change for all the combinations. I wish that was possible.. imagine the permutations of all the settings!

The important settings are the ones I placed a red rectangle around.

          Hi,

For what it's worth, I ran into the same problem when following the Events 2.0 Post Installation procedures and getting to the "Edit Public Access Settings" step. I have a new (as of 12/2013) instance of Salesforce and my instance had the Enhanced Settings enabled by default. It just came that way. I didn't choose those settings myself. I'm glad I thought (and usually do) to check the forum before submitting a ticket. I think there will probably be more new clients who run into this same issue.

          Best and Happy New Year!

            Good day Neely,

            Thank you for your note.

We will go ahead and adjust the manual accordingly. It is becoming practically impossible to test all these changes from version to version.

Thank you again for pointing this out.

You're welcome. I know it's impossible to have the manual cover every possibility. That's why I've found it is incredibly important to check the forum, and/or take breaks, then go back through the instructions step-by-step before posting or making a support ticket. As I browse the forums, I do see where several of us make repetitive posts.

I think you guys really do an 'above and beyond' job!

              Thanks to you all always.
