  • "Additional Donation" option is quirky

We're looking forward to launching registration for an upcoming event. The only thing stopping us at this point is the following 'buggy' behavior from the new "Additional Donation" feature:

In both "Active" and "Test" modes, the "Additional Donation" does not add up to the Total when the user inputs the donation amount and hits "Next". The only way we've seen this add up to the Total is if the user inputs the donation amount, then clicks on a random spot on the screen before hitting the "Next" button.

Is there a way to get this fixed?

P.S. We were glad to see this feature added in the new release! Thank you.

    Good day!

May I ask what browser you have tested this with?

I just tested this with Chrome & Firefox and it works fine. What browser and what platform (Windows, Mac) are you using?

We've tested our form in my co-worker's laptop (Internet Explorer on Windows), and on my computer (Firefox on Mac). In both environments, the form demonstrates the behavior I described previouslly.

Also note that this "Additional Donation" feature was added onto a form we had built prior to the new Events launch.

          Good day!

We have reviewed the behavior and can relate to your concern. The issue is the Javascript runs on mouse over and since there is no other field it won't trigger unless you click on the page - clicking alerts it that the mouse has moved.

It appears that an alternate solution may be better- we are adding a button named "Apply" next to the donation so the user can click on it to apply the donation. This could be a quick fix.

We are working on an update and will have a release tomorrow - May 24, 2013.

Thank you! We appreciate your review of this behavior.

We would also like to alert you that our Description on the Acknowledgement Page has not been displaying since we installed the new Events release. We just cut & pasted it into the Title section, and it displays there.

              Good day!

We just posted an update to the event and is available for installation in the AppExchange.

The release notes are not up yet - I just wanted to notify you first.

Please install it and it will fix the donation processing by having an extra button.

Let me know how this works for you.

                Hello -

Thank you for the new release with the "Apply" button. This seems to have solved that problem.
However, a new problem now appears. Our "Manual" Registration levels are appearing on our Event Site. Why are they now visible to the general public? This is a problem for us.

                  Good day!

This is strange since it is working fine in our instance. Not sure why you are experiencing this.

Would you please set a user for us so we can review your instance - see the following instruction:

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you; we have added this user and await your response. The problem is with the only event in our C&P Events.

                      Good day!

Thank you for your prompt reply.

We have found an issue and have come up with a fix for it for your instance. Do you want us to upgrade your instance and make sure it is working.

This may also happen to others so we will be releasing a patch to resolve this issue.

Let me know if it is OK to update your instance.

                          Good day!

We have upgraded your account to all the latest versions and have tested it. We believe this has fixed the problem you were experiencing.

Please check your event and let us know if you are still having any issues. We are currently testing the last release but did not want your event to be having issues while we are finalizing the release.

If all is OK we will go ahead and publish it once our tests are also complete.
                          Regards,

The issues with the Manual Levels is now fixed. Thank you.
We only wonder if we should be seeing "C&P Event Registered Attendee Detail" Contact Data field content as code, instead of an easier-to-read format?
Ex: Right now, we see Contact Data with all the coding tags...

                            <ContactData><Contact><FirstName>Ten</FirstName><LastName>Member</LastName></Contact><CustomParameters><Parameter><Field>Email</Field><Value>[email protected]</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>HomePhone</Field><Value></Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>MobilePhone</Field><Value>(210) 222-2222</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>MailingStreet</Field><Value>2 Test</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>MailingCity</Field><Value>Testing</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>MailingState</Field><Value>TX</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>MailingPostalCode</Field><Value>78222</Value></Parameter><Parameter><Field>Parish__c</Field><Value>St. Test</Value></Parameter></CustomParameters></ContactData>

                              Good day!

The field you are referring to is an XML field having the entire attendee record.

You may hide that field since you will not have a use for it.
