  • Hyperlink not working on Event Page

    Hi,
    So we have an event that we wanted people to be able to download PDFs regarding the event. So we created hyperlinks on the pages. And from the Page Layout the links work. When you try to use the links from the actually page site, they don't work and just go to our default homepage.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Jenny

    Jenny,

    Have you uploaded the PDF in the Event? There is a PDF upload which will show up for download in every page.

      Are you talking about the agenda part? The problem is it seems I can only upload one PDF there. We have 3 different PDF downloads which is why I was trying to use the hyperlinks.

        Jenny,

        While I don't know why you are doing it and I am sure there is a reason, I like to ask one other question before we I can figure out what is going on.

        Why not merge all PDF's into one document? Will that not work?

          Hi,
          Each PDF is a different type of Donation form that has to be submitted. So we have a Silent Auction donation form, a Sponsorship form and an advertisement space form. They are all pretty different so we wanted to prevent the people filling them out from getting confused. We are worried if it is all in one PDF people will fill out the information incorrectly or get discouraged from filling it out at all.

            Jenny,

            Can you send me the link to the event page so I can see the page and the link.

              Hi Jenny,

              wow.. I really like what you have done.

              I reviewed the source code for the page and see the link to all 3 links are pointing to your site.

              [HTML}<strong><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 16px; "><a href="http://www.ecad1.org" target="_blank"><span style="color: rgb(178, 34, 34); ">Sponsorship Opportunity [PDF]</span></a></span></span></strong></div>
              <div>
              <strong><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 16px; "><a href="http://www.ecad1.org" target="_blank"><span style="color: rgb(178, 34, 34); ">Journal Contribution [PDF]</span></a></span></span></strong></div>
              <div>
              <strong><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; "><span style="font-size: 16px; "><a href="http://www.ecad1.org" target="_blank"><span style="color: rgb(178, 34, 34); ">Gift In Kind Contribution [PDF]</span></a></span></span></strong></div>
              </div>[/HTML]

              I am not sure how you have set up these links. Please test the example I set up: [registration page there is a link to the Click & Pledge Salesforce Event page on our site]
              Here is how a link should be set up:
              Click image for larger version

Name:	Linking.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	13.6 KB
ID:	15166

              Please do as shown above and let me know if you still have the issue. The link should work as you expect. The files should naturally be set up on your site and the link should be hyperlinked to the text.

                  Jenny,

                  Stranger things have happened in the past but in this case we don't deserve any credit.

                  We did not do anything! We simply reviewed your account and found out the issue. We have no way of knowing the actual link you wish to use for the PDF documents so we could not have possibly changed it.
