  • Event Pages Problems (Character Limit, Registration Levels, Custom Payment Page)

    Hi,
We are trying to create an events page for a camp registration. There are 3 problems we are running into which I'm not sure if there is a fix or not.
1 - We have custom questions and there seems to be a character limit so the questions are getting cut off mid sentence. Is there a way to increase this?
2 - Our Registration levels are for signing up the kids, not for prices. Is there a way to hide the prices, tax rate, etc?
3 - For the payment page, we would like to use a checkout page we created on Click & Pledge, so we try to use an iframe custom design, custom HTML page, but it never shows.
    Thank You,
    Jenny

        Jenny,

Please upgrade to 1.99 - the limits were extended in this release.

            Jenny,

The free event will show the tax and price but we will be working on removing it in an upcoming release. The next release will be a compatibility release for 7.2 country / state pick-list feature.

As for item 3 - I am not sure I understand. The entire system contains a payment form and cannot be pointed to a checkout page. Why would you want to do this? The event module is self contained and has the payment form, etc. all built in.

              Hi,
We are having problems getting the payments to make sense. A person signing up could have 3 kids going to the camp, so they would register 3 kids using an "Add Child" registration level. And then they have to pick which weeks each kid is going which is where the cost comes from. So they might have 3 kids going to Week 1, and 2 kids going to Week 2, and we need to know which kids are going when. We just weren't sure how to simplify it using the built in payment system to reduce the complication of having a bunch of different register levels that don't seem to interact.

Also, updating the version didn't seem to help the character limit problem for the custom fields.

                  Jenny,

The character limit was expanded to 32,500 characters for the picklist options. The field limit for a text field is 255 characters in Salesforce so we are bound by those limits.

At this time simple text fields are limited to 255 characdters.

                    Jenny,

It is best if you post different questions as different threads. When you mix questions in a single thread we have a hard time keeping track of answers and for others to review the answers it will not cause confusion.

Have you tried adding each week as an Event Level? that is the only way I can see doing what you wish to do with the Salesforce Event application.

                      Hi,
Sorry for the confusion. I will just focus on the Event levels.
We tried the Weeks for Event levels but you would then have to enter all the information for each child, every week. So if someone wanted to sign 2 children up for all 8 weeks, they would have to fill in the same information 8 times for each child... So 16 forms to fill out. We may just have to force people to only sign up one child at a time so a bulk of the information we require can be entered on the main form, and just the name can be re entered for each week. The user would have to go through the whole process and make a payment for each child, but I'm not sure what else we can do.
We were just hoping to make it more user friendly.
