& character causes error message in Event Registration

Hello,

We have an event registration currently open and a user contacted us about receiving a data error repeatedly. We troubleshooted together and realized it was the ampersand in his company's name "Dutchover & Associates" that was causing the error (we have a custom question that asks for company name).

This is a standard character in many company names. Is there a way to have this not generate an error message?

Or if it does generate an error message, can the message be more specific and actually highlight the field that's causing the issue? As it works now there's no indication of where the data issue actually is.

We have blocked that to be added in the company name with a warning.

The problem we have is with Salesforce and how it handles XML's. What version of event are you using? I believe this was blocked in 1.9.

"&" sign cannot be used in any fields - unfortunately .. again not because of our app but it is because of Salesforce's limitation with sites.
