Updating recurring donors credit card info when they are about to expire

In Salesforce, I found the C&P Recurring App where I can 'Edit Credit Card Info' of a recurring donor. From there I have the following questions:

• What if the donor's new credit card is the same number and only the expiry date has changed? Would I still need to enter the credit card number again manually?
• What if the CVV code has changed? Does that need to be updated in order for the transaction to process successfully?

It would nice to know what is required before reaching out to the recurring donor with an upcoming expiry date on their credit card.

In both cases, you will need to update full credit card details because we don't store card details and have no way to update partial card information, we just tokenized the card. Once you update the card, it will tokenize the new card and will be used for all future recurring installments.
