We recently noticed that a few of our Contact records contain email addresses that are not the same as the email address they provided on their C&P transaction. The Contact with ID 0033t00003OUyBHAA1 was created on 3/23/2021 and on 7/9/2022, they completed a C&P transaction using an email address that is different than the email address that was present on their Contact record. A screenshot of our Contact Matching settings is attached. Given the current settings I would have expected that if a C&P transaction came in from someone whose last name and email did not match the last name and email of an existing Contact, a new Contact would be automatically created. Instead, when order #61065-2207092002552138426 came in, the Contact with ID 0033t00003OUyBHAA1 was found and associated with the order. A C&P Alias record was also created for the Contact on the day the transaction came in. I thought C&P Aliases were only created if a Temporary Contact had been created and then processed, which would not have happened here since we have fully-automated contact creation enabled. Is there something in our settings that is creating Aliases without temporary contacts being created and processed?
