  • Primary Campaign Source is Blank

    Hi,

    Two Opportunities were created for Order # 61065-220406100912587 and neither contain a Primary Campaign Source. We have Primary Campaign Source mapping in the Campaign tab of C&P Settings set to "Use Transaction Campaign" any time a SKU Includes "VT". The Salesforce Campaign we have listed in the Salesforce Campaign section of the Payment Settings of the C&P Campaign is 7013t000001ZXOfAAO. Access has been granted for 1 week, Org ID is 00D3t0000010RUx

      Hi, thanks for your response. Where does the value in the Transaction Campaign field on order come from? I'm trying to understand if I need to update the Form, the Campaign in the Connect Portal, or the C&P Settings in Salesforce to resolve this.

        Your referenced order#61065-220406100912587 processed from C&P Virtual Terminal in Salesforce, in C&P Virtual Terminal there is a section "Tracker & Campaign" where you can assign the Transaction Campaign while processing the transaction. Please see:

          Hi, thanks for clarifying that! Order #61065-2203311521243864233 had the transaction Campaign with record Id 7013t000001nrteAAA indicated but the Primary Campaign Source was still not provided on the resulting Opportunity. I can see that the Campaign Name is present in the C&P data record (CnP Data-220331-0007265) but the value in the Transaction Campaign field on the order is empty.

            Order #61065-2203311521243864233 and Campaign with record Id 7013t000001nrteAAA you are referring to is Item Campaign NOT the Transaction Campaign. You can also see that on Transaction details page:

              Got it! so to clarify, in order to provide a Primary Campaign Source on an Opportunity, the Salesforce Campaign must be entered into the Transaction Campaign field in the Virtual Terminal, is that right? Does this only apply to orders received via the Virtual Terminal? Order #61065-2204121411564246610 does not have a Transaction Campaign but the Campaign with ID 7013t000001ZXOVAA4 is listed as the associated Opportunity's Primary Campaign Source. This order came in through a form, not the Virtual Terminal, so I'm curious if that is why the Transaction Campaign wasn't needed to assign the Primary Campaign Source. Also, if the Item Campaign does not provide the Primary Campaign Source on the Opportunity, what does it do? I read in this article that it "will help to segregate the entire items amount under desired campaign" but I'm not sure how that manifests on Opportunities or Campaigns.

                Please note that you do not have any transaction Campaign assigned to the transaction but you are trying to map the Primary Campaign Source by using Item SKU "includes VT" condition to Transaction Campaign which is the reason it is blank.

                NO, as per your settings, the system looking for the Transaction Campaign which is blank for the above order number. If you want those settings to work, change the condition of Primary Campaign Source to "Custom Name" Or "Lookup" instead of "Transaction Campaign" as shown in the below image:

                In case of the transaction is processed from Connect Form, you can utilize the Form SKU or Campaign SKU, or Item SKU and map it under C&P Settings > Campaigns > Transaction Campaign Settings

                Regarding the following order number: 61065-2204121411564246610 it is assigned the Primary Campaign Source as you have specified in mapping:
