  • Salesforce Virtual Terminal Questions

Is there a plan to add the Form SKU and Campaign SKU fields to Virtual terminal? This would be especially helpful for recurring gifts. If not, I assume that setting the transaction campaign in Virtual Terminal will continue to be filled in subsequent recurring gifts?

Secondly, for the custom questions section in Virtual Terminal, what is the best practice way to leave a blank value as default in picklists? Would a space followed by a semicolon work? If I just leave the options, it defaults to the first one listed (even when the question isn't mandatory).

Also, in Connect we have specific SKUs for picklist question answers that attach to the item SKU and are mapped in C&P Settings. Is there a way to set that up in Virtual Terminal (since the picklist questions don't map by name just by answer SKU)? We could manually add the information to the Item SKU field in VT, but I'd like to be able to set those values attached to the question responses in the backend, so my virtual terminal users don't have to worry about it.

    Good day @kwclick5

    1. Is there a plan to add the Form SKU and Campaign SKU fields to Virtual terminal?

A - Since there is an option to assign the Connect Campaign to the transaction in a Virtual Terminal, the same SKUs assigned in the Connect Campaign or Form will be applied in this case.

This would be especially helpful for recurring gifts. If not, I assume that setting the transaction campaign in Virtual Terminal will continue to be filled in subsequent recurring gifts?

A - If you have assigned the Connect Campaign in VT then you can use the Transaction Campaign Map under C&P Settings > Campaign.

    2. Secondly, for the custom questions section in Virtual Terminal, what is the best practice way to leave a blank value as default in picklists? Would a space followed by a semicolon work? A - Yes, no need to give a space, simply give a semicolon.

A - Using the Item SKU in VT, you can map the custom answer under C&P Settings > Custom Mapping > SKU mapping.

That's helpful to know that choosing the connect Campaign/form will bring over that data to the gift. And thanks for the clarification about the picklist values.

For Question 3, that's the workaround I was expecting, so it looks like I would need to have my VT users manually enter the data in the Item SKU field (I can't make it the default because it's different for every scenario).

      Thanks for clarifying!

        Good day @kwclick5

You can add a number of default items for VT under C&P Settings > Virtual Terminal:
